iOS update on ionic has tanked my watch

I’ve had my ionic maybe a month. Worked great and loved it. Since trying to update.... several times, hours and hours of waiting, I have the features that it says I should but it still says I need to update in my app.  Won’t go to the exercise mode, keeps saying I need a new clockface every time I try to go into settings or exercise. I am beyond frustrated. This is ridiculous. I’m not tech savvy. I have restarted, turned off, re downloaded.... hours of wasted time. I’m about ready to get my money back. It worked great, why did you have to mess with it??

I am having all the same problems. Been a week now and haven’t been able to use some apps. I let it load for 10 hours last weekend and it was just stuck on updating. I love the ionic. I’m hoping they fix this soon.

Yea I called today. They said I need to put my watch closer to the router. I don’t have WiFi... I do all my business and stuff through my phone hotspot. They said all the updates could be done through Bluetooth when I looked into it. Literally ridiculous. If this doesn’t work at a friends, I’m going after my money back. It was fine, now my 300 dollar watch is exactly that.... a watch.... stupid

I’ve factory reset it a few times. Also about 10 feet from WiFi and still no luck.

I initially had trouble updating my IONIC, but it was because the app on my phone needed to be updated. Once I did that everything went smoothly and relatively quickly - about 30mins.

Ok... factory reset my ionic.... it reset with the new update via Bluetooth!! Very thrilled... side note .. a factory reset is different than a reset..... but it worked!

How do you do a factory reset? After updating to 2.0 my ionic is stuck showing the Fitbit logo! I can’t get anything else!

Trying to update via computer but keeps telling me I need a wireless sync dongle ionic did not come with one and the charger wire does not work as dongle ohh about to give up ughhh

Try calling customer service they git mine fixed right away!

Ok so google factory reset... but I deleted my ionic from the app, and forgot the device on the Bluetooth menu on my phone in settings. Then.... if I remember right, you hold down all three buttons until it goes black, then release the bottom right button. It buzzed and turned off. Then I turned it back on, and added it like a New Ionic. Side note.... I got a notification that said it did not factory reset because I didn’t delete the data, however, it DID complete the current update over Bluetooth, which is what I needed. I’m not computer or tech savvy... google it to get a better description!!! I’m just so happy it’s figures out. I was sooo frustrated and angry 😠 all is well in my world now... guess I should be thankful that’s the worst thing I’ve to worry about at the moment😂 let me know how it goes!

I reset it again. I think i it right. Started the whole process all over again. Been about an hour now and it is installing. Wait and see what happens. Thanks.

@Denean The computer has to have Bluetooth 4.0 which means Windows 7&8 do not work. You need a newer computer or you will have to buy a sync dongle off the website or amazon.

You can’t uodate on the computer without that dongle thing I guess, which is frustrating because ionic doesn’t come with one.... but mine updated over Bluetooth when I factory reset it.

I did. They said the only way to fix it was to move it closer to a WiFi router, which I don’t have. Everything they said before purchasing was that I could do updates via Bluetooth or I wouldn’t have bought one. Customer service on this was frustrating. They wouldn’t help me until I tried putting it next to a WiFi router.... ugh

Reset... or FACTORY reset??? I reset mine several times.. got stuck...! Factory reset was done in30 minutes and the update was done.
