support was no help at all. i am quite dissapointed i been with fitbit for a long time but after this i will be going with a different fitness tracker. as this is just crazy that they would not replace a defective device.

I have exactly the same problem. I went for a swim, what I have done multiple times and now my fitbit has died. Please let me know what to do (I have it for 2.5 years now).

I also went for a swim on Saturday and my ionic is now a brick!  This is my second ionic......

Fitbit please help to resolve this issue for all of us.  I've beta-tested for you and expect some help on this issue for all of us, experiencing the brick syndrome after going swimming

Same thing happened to me.  I was in hot tub for about 2 minutes.  I had a prior problem with it failing to charge that i worked through but this just went dead.  Since out of warranty by 2 months all they were willing to do was to tell me to buy another one and they would give a discount of 20% or something like that. This company has a problem with this model and fails to resolve it. I like many others moved on to another manufacturer though up to then I liked the product.  Apparently water proof is a goal but not a reality for this product.

How hot was your hot tub? Not that I'm defending them, but early on I
asked the question about temps of the water and they said 40-113 was
okay....
