Bummer. I was concerned that it was going to be too chunky large on my wrists and I was right. My wrists are like 6.25 inches or so. Looking from the side, you see a gap on either end cause it doesn’t sit flush on my wrist. You know, fitbit, Ladies with a smaller bone structure like products like this too. It felt like an a handcuff on. I’ll have to send it back

Hi,
I'm a man but my wrist is more or less 6 inches too. Did you try the small wrist band? I have it on the fifth hole, sometimes on the fourth if it starts feeling tight.
edit: forgot to mention, I read on a review that the sport band is softer so it should probably fit better:

"The stock band is probably the least comfortable band I’ve seen/worn on a fitness wearable. I wouldn’t go as far as saying it sucks, but I’d certainly prefer not to wear it [...]
The sport band is far better and more flexible, it’s also much more breathable"

Thanks ! Yeah. The strap is the same width and thickness as the small. The face of it was more of the bummer. It sat really high and long on me and was heavier then I expected.

Yep, but the small strap should be shorter so possibly the face should sit against your wrist, or at least it does for me and I just checked and mine is also ~6.25in.
In terms of weight, I feel it's ok, but I don't expect the small strap to make a noticeable difference. In case you can try to contact support anyway before returning it to see if they have any other suggestion

My wife would never wear my Blaze (it was too big), or my 42mm Apple Watch (too big). The Ionic is even bigger than 42mm Apple Watch. The only size she finds acceptable is 38mm Apple Watch.

Dang. That stinks.
I suspect I may have to do the same thing (if/when the dang thing ever even arrives at my doorstep).
My wrists are unusually narrow, too, at about 5.25" in diameter. The Surge I have currently looks ok-ish, but still a bit clunky. Does your Ionic function properly even with the gap? Is it still picking up your heart rate and such?

I didn’t set it up. Once I saw how it fit, I knew I wasn’t gonna keep it.

I told my husband the same that women have wrists, too! The boys club of design and engineering sure is gonna come back and bite them in the butt when they realize half the population can't wear it. 😞 I've returned mine, too.

I'm not tracking, if size is that big of a concern then don't buy a smart watch with a touch screen. If the screen was any smaller the device would be unusable.

I had a small version of the Apple Watch that was appropriate for my wrist, and the touchscreen worked fine. Our point in this thread is that we returned the Ionic because it was too big. Apple has addressed the issue of different wrist sizes by creating different size watches; Fitbit should, too.
(Also, if you thought the screen on a hypothetical smaller Ionic is too small to use, you wouldn't have to buy it. People like me and the OP would buy it. We aren't suggesting getting rid of the original Ionic--just also making a smaller one. It'd be like different size pants. Just because I wear a different size than you doesn't mean I shouldn't get any pants. It doesn't mean I don't want you to have your pants--just that I want appropriately-sized pants, also.)

I almost bought this and I’m so glad I didn’t. I have the surge and it’s on the cusp of too big/chunky. I actually ended up buying the Alta for certain times because of this.
Perhaps ill end up getting the smaller Apple Watch. Which sucks cause I don’t like the Apple health app. I love the Fitbit app. 😞
