Are Fitbit replacements new or refurbished?

Hello,

I have a 2 week old fitbit luxe and it has a defective battery and needs a replacement.  

Are fitbit device replacements new or refurbished?

As you said your luxe was replaced earlier did you receive a new device or a refurbished device as a replacement?

Hi @SunsetRunner  it depends on what's in the warehouse when your replacement is shipped out. It could be refurbished or it could be new. Click to read more. Mostly these are  products that are returned because the users don't like the color, chose the wrong model or size "

My concern is that, I paid the full price to buy the fitbit and it's only 2 weeks old. So it's like I am loosing money by getting a refurbished device in exchange to a very new defective product.  

What's the chance of getting a new device instead of a refurbished one?  I need replacement for Fitbit Luxe lunar white color. Just to mention I'm from India.

@SunsetRunner  the only one who can answer that would be customer support. It really depends on the availability of the color and size you wish at the time your device gets to the warehouse. You might need to get with customer support for any further information. If you bought it from a retail store, it would be faster to return it to them, if that option is still there. Many retailers in the US have different return policies.

mine was in a pack said refurbished (you just get the fitbit, no straps or charger, so the colour strap won't matter!) - and like you I was worried that my nearly new one (5 weeks old) would be replaced with an old/tatty one.  But had no scratches and looked good.  Hope that helps.
