Fitbit Luxe band material

I have a question about the material of the silicone band for the Luxe. Is it a completely new material or is it also used in silicone bands for older Fitbit devices.

Hi there, @madmaxin. It's nice to see you around the Community Forums.

The Luxe housing is made of stainless steel. The Luxe band is made of a comfortable silicone (similar to that used in many sport watches) and fastens with an anodized metal buckle and tang. The special edition gorjana Parker Link Bracelet is made of stainless steel and comes with a peony silicone band.

See you around.

Hello @MarreFitbit,

Thanks for your quick response.

Unfortunately you did not answer my question at all. Instead you simply copy and pasted information about the band that I already read on your website and which is very much irrelevant to my question. You answer makes me doubt that you are a real human. It seems that you are a bot.

Is anybody able to answer my question?

I've seen nothing to suggest that it's any different. If it was then I'd expect them to make a point of it. Instead the manual just says:

"The band that comes with Luxe is made of a flexible, durable silicone similar to that used in many sports
watches, and the buckle is anodized aluminum"

@SteveH Just because Fitbit’s marketing material is not mentioning a change in material does not mean that the material is the same as in older models.

Did anybody notice a change in the silicone material when wearing Luxe compared to older models?

Hi @madmaxin

I understand your question and your frustration with the responses.

Unfortunately, Fitbit does not seem to ever fully disclose exactly what materials the silicone bands are actually made with.

I own the Luxe as well as over a dozen other Fitbits, so although I cannot tell you for certain it is completely new material, I can report that the material has a different feel (more smooth and more premium) compared to the Inspire 2.

So it has changed, but I'm not sure what exactly they changed.
