The total daily distance doesn’t include distance covered while in exercise mode??

I did an ‘outdoor workout” and covered 3.2 miles and an auto-recognized walk for another 3 miles later in the day but my total distance covered for the day shows 3.5 miles ..?? Shouldn’t total daily distance sum up miles for the entire day?

Daily distance should, and usually does, include distance in exercise mode.

But I'm wondering if your issue has to do with "outdoor workout".  I remember when Fitbit introduced that as a workout type, there was a lot of confusion; I don't think FItbit ever officially clarified what exactly it was for, but it wasn't just for any workout done outdoors.  The outdoors part had to do with moving around so you might want a GPS map, but I think maybe it was for non-step based workout, such as boating so you could get distance travelled without really counting as exercise distance, or some such.  So I'm wondering if maybe, although it did credit distance for the workout, that distance doesn't get counted as daily distance.

I realize that's not much of an answer, but I suggest you try without using 'outdoor workout' and see if the results seem accurate then.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thank you for your response! It worked when I changed the exercise mode .. AND turned on the “show laps” on the exercise. It maybe that that the distance while in exercise mode is not calculated in daily total unless I manually turn on the “show laps” for the specific exercise. I will test it again with the “outdoor workout” mode.

Thanks again!
