Is this product waterproof to go swimming?

FitBit claims the Luxe is "water resistant" to 50m which I suppose does not mean that it waterproof. I wonder if some here can explain the difference between manufacturers claims of "water resistant" vs "waterproof"? Seems to me like a clever way of being able to back out of warranty claims.
Anyway, I would be a bit nervous about swimming with a device that isn't waterproof but hey, that's just me.
Good luck.

Welcome to the forums @Karen2606. Good to see you participating @Wanch
Thank you for providing the inquiry regarding your Luxe.
As @Wanch has mentioned, Luxe is water-resistant to 50 meters. It's designed to be swimproof and stand up to even the sweatiest of workouts. Nevertheless, water resistance may diminish over time and can be negatively impacted by any of the following:
If your device gets wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. If your device comes into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser (like Cetaphil) and dry it with a lint free-cloth.
Keep in mind that not all of our accessory bands should get wet, like those made of leather, metal, and woven materials. For more information about wearing your Fitbit device, see our Wear and Care page.
Thanks for your help @Wanch
