Luxe - Bluetooth beacon / broadcast

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Luxe, bought to replace an Alta HR.

I was using the Alta HR's Bluetooth broadcast/beacon for home automation for room presence detection with Room Assistant and Home Assistant.

However the Luxe does not seem to broadcast/ act as a bluetooth beacon.

It does broadcast intermittently but I have to been able to find a pattern for this - I originally thought it was after connecting to the app on my phone and then closing the app.

Is there a way to have the Luxe broadcast / act as a beacon all of the time? I am not concerned about battery life.

The simple answer @sdeep is no.

The harder answer. Since the Luxe can only talk to the Fitbit app, I'm not sure what the advantage would be.

Rich,

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I am not wanting the Luxe to talk to any other app, just for it to broadcast it's BLE mac and therefore act as a beacon.

The advantages are huge for myself and others who use this as room presence detection and for home automation.

The fitbit app is great, hence the continued use of fitbit devices.

My partner on the other hand isn't as tied to the fitbit app as I am and their device (Mi Band 6) allows choosing of setting the BLE bluetooth broadcast/beacon on or off within the app which can then be used for home automation.

Thanks again, now off to decide whether to switch device or find another solution.
