My new luxe keeps registering that I’ve been swimming when I haven’t ?

That means that fitbit is auto-recognizing what you are doing as swimming.  Auto-recognized activities are based just on what fitbit sees from your wrist movements, and can easily get them wrong.  To prevent this, on phone app from 'Today' screen, tap Days of Exercise tile, then gear icon near to right. That will list the activities that might be auto-recognized.  You can tap any one that you don't want and turn it off.  Also you can set minimum length of time is takes for that to count as an exercise session, I think by default 15 minutes for each.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
