Luxe won't charge properly

After charging to 100% and removing from the charger, the device turns off and doesn't turn ON. When I keep it to charger once again, the screen turns ON and shows 0% charged.

Hi there, @maddisons. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that your Luxe is not charging properly. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

Please note that there are some issues that affect this, being which power source is used and how clean the contacts are and how well the charger is seated. If you are charging your Luxe on the wall socket, try using another CE certified USB adapter for low energy devices.

If you haven't done so yet, I'd recommend following the tips and recommendations provided here Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

@RachelMB21 my luxe would do the non-responsive black screen after it buzzed. I attempted to turn off all notifications going to my Luxe. That helped somewhat. I almost always saw the non-responsive black screen when it told me I hit my step goal, even when I turned that notification off.

you can try turning all notifications off and see if that helps.

fitbit has said in a number of posts that it’s a battery issue. I wonder if ***** would be able to replace the battery. I was curious enough to email their support team and ask. I’ll post an update here and on all the other threads in the Fitbit luxe community about the same issue if I get a positive response back from them.

Hi, @maddisons & @Js2222 welcome, in addition to the advice @MarreFitbit posted may I suggest you review how you connect your Luxe to the power source? I have an older Luxe which has seen better days. I find that frequent connecting and disconnecting of the power brick, USB plug and charge cable puck to the Luxe can be hit-and-miss. I recommend you keep the power brick plugged into the power source and the USB cable plugged into the brick. Start the charging process by attaching the Luxe to the puck, you will find it frequently needs a little wiggle to get the charging display to appear, the trick is to lay the Luxe on a flat surface very gently without causing the display to go dark. Do clean the back of your Luxe and make sure the two little pins are even & free (they are spring loaded)

I hope this helps.

Cheers

I am having the exact same issue. Brand new out of the box. I charge it up to 99% then it gives me an error message saying it’s no longer charging. Becomes unresponsive on the charger and dies once removed. I put it back on and it’s at 1%. I have changed where I am charging it and how 3 times and nothing fixes it.

@Bizi-B you should definitely contact Fitbit support since your Fitbit is new and under  warranty. If they can’t help you, they should replace it.

Hi, @Bizi-B, You can contact Fitbit's Customer Support Here. Work through points 1 & 2 then use the contact options Chat Facility or phone for prompt attention. Depending on where you are, you may find service disrupted by the holidays, but you should persevere as this is the way forward if you want to activate Fitbit's return and warranty policy . Depending on who you bought it from you may find it more convenient to return the Luxe to the seller for a refund, Amazon's return process is pretty slick.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

I am having a terrible time with my Luxe needing to be recharged, very frequently.  Even when it still has charge of 40% or more, the app says is has 4% charge. It is not syncing well with the app either.  I have limited notifications (no texts or phone calls), but it is not serving me well.  How long does the battery last?  I've had my Luxe for a couple of years I think, maybe a little longer.  Can I replace the battery?

Hi, @kkcap23 welcome, sadly small-form wearables do have a limited life span dictated by the number of charge/discharge cycles the battery has gone through. Check out my earlier comments about Fitbit's returns & warranty policies to clarify your position. No manufacturer replaces batteries in wearables, even if this was an economical option no one can guarantee the water-tight integrity of a repair. Do talk to Customer Support as recommended above.

Cheers
