My Lux is consistently showing hundreds of steps first thing in the morning even when I take it off overnight

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Brattymom.

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your Fitbit Luxe. Thank you for the information provided.

If you place your Luxe on a nightstand at night please check if there is any electrical appliance issuing vibrations nearby. Your tracker might record those vibrations as steps. Try putting your Tracker in a different place and see if the issue gets resolved.

In addition you can restart your Tracker by following these instructions.

You can negate the extra data by manually logging a driving activity. For instructions, please visit this article and open the menu "How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?".

Have a nice day.

I moved it every night for 4 nights trying to isolate it but nothing helped. The next step was the garage or back porch and I wouldn’t do that. Next I tried to reset it and that has not gone well. I have gotten as far as settings and while I can adjust for brightness no number of taps let me move beyond this point. I just want my Fitbit to tell me the day, date and number of steps.

I am trying anything to have my Lux be useful again. I am willing to delete everything and start over. Please help me before I throw this thing 8n the garbage.

Thanks for your response, @Brattymom.

In the article shared above there are instructions to to restart your Luxe via the charging cable if you can't do it from the Settings.

Whether you have linked your Fitbit account to a third party-app, the activities logged from their side can add steps to your Fitbit account. Manually logged activities can also add extra steps. You can delete any manually logged activity or any activity from a third-party app to remove those extra steps.

My daughter was able to reboot my fitbit but it still put on hundreds of steps after midnight. Last night I stayed up to midnight to make sure it went back to zero and it did. 900 steps this morning and I haven’t put it in yet.

I tried chat. It seemed to be prerecorded info. I’ll try again.
