Hi,
I’m surprised I haven’t been able to find an existing answer to this question, but what exactly does the Weights exercise track? I’d like to know whether or not it tracks steps, as the constant up-down motion of lifting would artificially inflate my step count if it does. I can’t find anything anywhere that says it doesn’t track steps, so I’d like to confirm.
Thanks in advance!

Hello @Chris_______ and welcome to the community. I wear a Versa 3. The Weights shortcut doesn't list steps on the General Stats that I see on the device screen at the end of my workout, but I do see steps on the Exercise Details on the mobile app. The accelerometer sees what it sees, so slower movements are less likely to count as steps. Whether I get a step with a biceps curl or not seems to depend on the speed of my arm movement. To check, I started a weights exercise and did 30 biceps curls quickly with light weights. It counted seven steps. It didn't count any when I did them slowly.
Every wrist worn tracker will both overcount and undercount steps. So yes, you will get spurious steps with weights. But a Fitbit isn't a scientific instrument and you will drive yourself crazy trying to correct an imperfect step count.
