What good is a pedometer that will not track steps on a treadmill?

My Luxe will not track my steps or mileage on my treadmill.  The technician at Fitbit said that it is because a treadmill is not forward motion and the Luxe only tracks forward motion.  

I need a pedometer that will track steps on a treadmill.  My IPhone tracks steps on my treadmill.  Why can't my Luxe track steps on a treadmill?

Or, some have had good results by buying an strap extender on Amazon and wearing above the ankle.

But, as to the post title, "What good is a pedometer that will not track steps on a treadmill?", the Luxe is not a pedometer; it is an activity tracker.  If all you want is a pedometer to count steps, then you are way overbuying.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Hi @DoloresA  the Luxe is a wrist based device and needs you to be swinging your arms to count those steps. Why not do as many others have done - put the Luxe into your pocket while on the treadmill and it will get those steps counted.

Problem is that putting the Luxe in the pocket you don't have HR measurement.
