correct step count when using a walker

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I use a walker and my hands rest on the handles of the walker when walking.  I do not believe I am getting a correct step count due th ethe fact my hands are not swinging freely.  any suggestions?

Hi @clputman  a few people have posted with similar situations in the past few months. Since the Luxe is a wrist based device, it does count on your swinging your arms to get the steps recognized. Since your hands are busy on the handles, you can do what many have done and put the tracker in your pocket or just put it around the frame of the walker so it moves. Some have just put the Fitbit around their ankles, too. You can experiment and find what works best for you and let us know. It could help others to know the solution you found.

I find this doesn't record even if you're using a shopping cart, stroller, lawn mower, etc.  Mine actually records the lawn mower as a bike sometimes....Can't wear on my ankle all the time!!!

Hi @teachergma  you can remove those steps from mowing, if you want. If you want, you could just pop the tracker in a pocket when you don't want it on your ankle.
