2 different totals for calories burned at days end

So i noticed that the # of calories burned thats displayed on the icon/in the food log etc is different than whats shown at the top of the graph (the graph that shows calories burned evrry 15 mins).

I went back and checked and this problem has been happening since day one. Almost every day the displays are different. And dicferent by a lot. Like some are upwards of 250 calories.

So what one is showing the correct amount of calories burned? I am trying to lose weight and if my calories burned is wrong than im not eating at a deficit. This could probably explain why im barley losing a lb a week when i set to eat at a 750 calorie deficit (which should result in a 1.5 lb weekly loss).

Also, how can i fix it so that they both show the same amount of daily calories burned.

Hello @Lazlow I'm not following you, but I've never worried about this aspect.

However it seems to be related to calories in/out and not a spacific tracker model. Therefore I moved your post to the Manage Weight discussion board.

I think this may be the best board to get an answer.

Hi! I have a Fitbit charge 4 if that helps. No, im not talking ablut cal in and out. I. Only talking about cal out and how they appear on the app.

So if you go to the app and click on the cal icon it takes you to the list of cal burned (where it'll say 'This Week' and below show u the amount burned on sat, then amount burned on fri then amount burned on Thursday ect) so if u look at a day, say thursay, itll say 2000c burned. So u click on that it takes u to the graph (mine is blue) and below the graph says 2000c burned. Now when u click on thia graph it takes u to another one (that is flipped sideways) and this one shows the yellow and green lines where ur activity was intense. Its on this graph where my cal burned is different. At the top left of the graph itll show totoal cal burned as say 1900, and the blue graph itll show 2000. Does this make sense? Im not sure how to include pics to include a visual....

@Lazlow - I’m not noticing the issue you’ve described when using my iPhone.  I did notice that the last screen you described has a lot more detail, and it is possible to switch between daily, monthly, and other views of average daily calories.  When you switch from one of the more extended views and then back to daily you can drag to different days. If you are on any of these different views you may be looking at a different timeframe than the day you started with when you began your review.

As to why your planned calorie deficit isn’t translating into the weight loss you expect, that is a common problem.  All the calorie figures on both the burn and consume side are estimates, some people burn more calories than others even if the same sex, weight and age, and everybody makes measurement mistakes (weighing food is more accurate than using volume measurements).  The best tip I have on that score is to keep tracking and make adjustments every couple of weeks as you go along.
