How can I lose 30 lbs fast?

Ah, if only there really was a magical way to accomplish that! I'm down 60 lbs since last February and can tell you from personal experience that any quick fix will likely result in a later quick gain when you stop starving yourself. But, that said, I found I lose the fastest and most consistently on low carb. My doctor put me on a diet of "real" food ... no sugar, no processed foods.
Breakfast: small piece of fruit & one serving of vegetarian protein (1/2 cup legumes, beans, chick peas, etc.).
Lunch: 3 oz of chicken, fish, 2 eggs or other protein, veggies, 1 serving oil (salad dressing, olive oil, olives, etc).
Dinner: 3 oz of lean protein, veggies, 1 serving of oil.
Snacks: 2/day. 1/2 oz of a healthy nut, such as walnuts or almonds. I also take a half serving of a protein powder twice a day, normally mid morning and mid afternoon. (I like it in a cup of coffee.)

I am quite short so this diet plan was designed with that in mind. If you are male or significantly taller than my 5', you will likely need more calories. Add extra protein and maybe another piece of fruit. Another note, my diet was designed to keep my sugar levels level. I was previously pre-diabetic. This is no longer the case, but I still have to watch the carbs and sugars.

This may not be the answer you were hoping for, but I hope it helps. I really like this eating plan because it is easy to follow. I have been able to maintain or lose weight consistently, even during the holidays and while going out to eat. Plus, I feel sooooooo much better!

Fast?  Probably not what you really want to do.

You have to burn more calories than you consume.  It's that simple.  Eat better and less and exercise.

You really shouldn't lose more than about 1.5 ~ 2 lbs a week if you want it to be healthy.  This is cited in many studies and articles.

It depends on what you mean by fast.  If you mean 3 months from now, its possible with a lot of focus on your diet and activity levels.  But even thats beyond the upper limit on how quickly you should lose weight (unless you are very overweight to begin with).   Losing 2.5 lbs a week means you have to burn 1,250 calories more than you eat.  Which realistically means you have to both limit your calorie intake AND do a lot of exercise.  And stick to this every single day.  Not easy.

The faster you lose weight the more likely you are to gain it back just as quickly.  If you really want that 30lbs to go, and stay gone, you should think about losing it at about 1lb a week.  Which would mean about 7 months from now.

Loosing weight is Calories in vs Calories out. Consuming about 3500 calories less than you burn accounts for about a pound of weightloss. Eat a balanced, healthy diet, a diet that you can stick to, workout as much as you can and as long as you consume less calories then you burn you will loose weight.

Tip: Be honest to yourself about your calorie consumption or burn, it's more motivating!

That is my "program" and I am down about 110lbs.
