I'm new to Fitbit too, following my old pedometer busting and investing in a Zip. I'm following Slimming World, having joined around 5/6 weeks ago. Just got back into my diet/exercise after the holidays so will be monitoring my progress. I'm still trying to get my head around all my accounts that I've connected (MyFitnessPal & Endomondo). Fitbit reporting some pretty high/weird calorie results on my first day tracking.
Early days, so will keep you posted!

Hi
I have done slimming world on and off for the last four years. I tend to be really good, lose two stone, think I can go it alone, slip into bad habits, put on a stone, rejoin, I think you get the picture. I am 5 stone down from my heaviest which proves it works, and I rejoined again on New Years Eve and committed myself as I want to lose the weight and not keep having this battle. I have the fitbit flex. It is a good motivator as it is worn on the wrist and everytime I want something I really shouldn't I just look at it and think how much additional exercise I need to do to burn it off 🙂
The other thing that I found fitbit great for is making sure I eat in moderation. I love the slimming world ethos of never going hungry and they are right, you don't, but I find having the free foods makes me feel like it is a free for all and my GP has said that as everything has calories, I need to learn the moderation part too. So I have stuck with the SW plan, but weighed everything I have eaten to keep in the calorie allowance given on fitbit and so far its all good. 6lb down just need to carry on.
Hope you are ok and doing well on the plan x

I know exactly what you mean about the free foods on slimming world, Karenmec! All food has calorific value, and Fitbit shows the great relationship with calories in vs. calories out, so I've taken to weighing everything this week.
Last week I was a bit disheartened. I enjoy fitness walking (both power walking outside and Leslie Sanson Walk at Home inside) and last week, apart from a 4 mile outdoor brisk walk, I clocked up over 5.5 hours of exercise (double the amount I normally do) and followed SW pretty strict, and whilst I'd lost 0.6kg, I was disappointed that it wasn't more with the effort I put it.
This week, I've decided to go back to 5:2 fasting - that's where I dropped off my initial weight before reaching a plateau and going onto SW. I'm recording everything in MFP and SW, logging my exercise in Endomondo, and both being connected with Fitbit. I'm loving the information it's giving me!
Good luck and keep me posted on your progress! Weight in day for me on Friday 🙂
