Hi all
I am very confused about the calorie counting on the app
Device: Versa2
Age: 48
Male
Weight: 275 lbs
Height: 6'1
From various BMR calculators online I get a BMR of somewhere between 2100 & 2400
The app goal is set to lose 2lbs per week or a deficit of 1000 calories a day.
So besides any extra calories from exercise I should eat between 1100-1400 a day. Lets average this and say 1250.
Today my meals have totaled 1800 calories.
The "today" screen of the app shows me as having 1600 calories left.
If I click on the calories a new window opens and it says 1200 left in budget. So two very different figures on same day? I have no idea which one to look at
I have done just under 13,000 steps. Multiple slow walks (+- 2.5mph)
So even though I have eaten 550 calories over my BMR (averaged) I still have either 1200 or 1600 left, depending on which area of the app I look at.
There is no way that this can be right. I cant have almost the same calories left to eat as what I have eaten the whole day already, and I really doubt that slow walks totaling 6 miles has added this huge number of calories to my day.
Can anybody clear this up for me? I am very confused here and really trying hard to get my weight under control.
Thanks in advance
Richard

The BMR is your Basal Metabolism Rate - If you were in bed sleeping for 24 hours. This is the calories required to keep you body alive. Any additional movement (walking, running) will add to your daily total of calories. The Fitbit tries to calculate on the fly but is not that accurate for me....
