Can we talk? On January 7th, I weighed in at 207 lbs. A few of my friends and family all weighed in and was not happy with what we saw on the scales. The important thing, we all recognized the pit falls of being overweight, the biggest was concern for overall health. With that said we promised to make changes in our lifestyle with a goal of improved health. We also promised to weigh-in and share our numbers with each other every 2 weeks.
Sadly the group is now has a membership of one; me! But I am glad to say I have shown improvement, I have lose 20 lbs by changing how I eat and walking. The crazy thing is I am sure I could have lost more if I changed my snacking habits. Trust me... ice cream is like a drug for me, I am hooked.
So now I am starting a new journey with a goal of losing ten pounds over the next few months. If you want, friend me and follow me here on fitbit. If you want, lets motivate each other... free and safe environment here.

@AAWarrior Just curious, but how many were in your group in the beginning? It's hard for people to share their weight, but it's easier to reveal the weight loss.
You've done great, especially since you've been on your own. Your friends and family should have stuck with it.
Welcome to the forums.

@AAWarrior My various in-laws will mention my weight loss and notice the Flex on my wrist. Despite their words of wanting to shed some pounds, they simply don't want to make the effort. Several of them are obese and have medical issues. They mention the latest fad diet or miracle product, but it's just talk.
Your family may have given up on their goals, but you stuck to it. By your example, they may decide that they can do it. Some people just take longer than others to see what's staring them right in the mirror. All you can do is be there if they ever decide to make changes.

Good job sticking with it. I guess, while peer support is good motivation, our life choices are ultimately our own responsibility.
I too have bad snacking habits. Its all too easy to grab a bag of trail mix, and/or some candy and wipe out the calories I burned at the gym. Ice cream and cheese used to be a problem for me, but I became lactose intolerant and they melted (groan) into my past! Now my issue is portion control and snacking. I eat well, but.....in portions that are too large for my own good. Adressing this is a work in progress!
