Baby in tow

I have a Fitbit Flex...and a baby. I would love to reach 10,000 steps every day, but some days it seems hard. The baby is with me 24/7 and having someone watch him while I walk or run is not possible 95% of the time. I got in a few great walks the past few days carrying him on my back but he gets really heavy after a while. If I walk while pushing a stroller, will my steps still be counted? I know I could "push with one hand" but my stroller doesn't push straight without 2 hands and I live on a dirt road 🙂

When pushing for example a shopping cart or a stroller, not all steps may be counted because the tracker may not pick up all the steps.

The flex tracker can for example being taken out the band and being placed inside your pocket, and it will count steps as it would be worn onto the wrist.

Welcome to the community, happy Fitbitting!

I had similar issues with my Fitbit not tracking all my steps while shopping and pushing a grocery cart. Someone suggested taking it off my wrist and putting it on my ankle or put it in my pocket. When I put it around my ankle (inside my sock and above my shoes), it tracked MUCH better. Early on I was wearing a pedometer to track steps, the Fitbit is MUCH easier!

Having had four kids and it seemed like always a baby "in tow", I remember those days and trying to get things done with a child in my arms and usually one or two at my feet... I bought a small wagon and would take the kids on walks, pulling them in the wagon up to the end of our dead-end street. That extra walking and effort paid off back then and the kids loved the ride and encouraged me to take them outside for walks.

Best suggestion, be creative, and stay active. You'll reap the benefits the older you get, believe me.
