For the past few days, all I can think about are triple chocolate brownies. I can visualize how chocolatey they look in the pan, smell them baking, and then...I eat the whole pan because my Hubby doesn't like chocolate. So far I've managed to tough it out, but carrots and alternatives aren't cutting it.
Would it make sense to go buy one brownie and savor it, instead of making and then eating an entire pan?

Yes it makes sence to me to go buy one.
Keep them out of the house if you are going to eat the entire pan.

Yes, buy it, eat it and savor every bite. Eat slowly tasting every morsal and then get over it and move on.

When you fight a craving that is really strong, you are more pressed to binge in a moment of weakness. My advice is to go for it.
I'd say buy one. Making the pan causes to eat the pan
Bon appetit!

The "people's choice" is that you should do it.
Question is, why you are taking a Fitbit survey about putting junk in your mouth? 🙂
The way to give up a bad habit, is to replace it with a good habit (scientifically proved).
Make yourself some whole wheat pasta, a plain salad with a bit of cold pressed extra
virgin olive oil, and then take your properly fueled body for a long walk, or jog, or run.
Any refined sugar is a poison to your mind and body.

When eating nutritient rich food most of the time, the cravings for the food which are nutritient lacking will diminish. There can still be a craving sometimes, out of habit.. when not hungry, and craving for, allow to have some when being hungry again.
Our bodies want the better food within time, allow to have some cake, piece of strawberry pie.. or anything else once in a while when wanting it but with care / in moderation. When not really hungry, and it's for the taste, recognize it's this once because a special day (birthday),.. take a smaller slice / portion.. and eat when being hungry again (choosing for a 'healthier' food).
When nourishing our bodies with nutritient rich foods mostly, not eating when not being hungry and honoring our bodies. Our bodies take care of us, and crave for the 'better' foods, not really wanting to have the 'less healthier' options. However having that piece of cake.. (or anything else) once in a while, is perfectly fine, be aware about, enjoy every bite..

Are you an MD kind of "doctor", or some other kind of "doctor"?

My suggestion to you @MLGad is to buy one brownie and every time you feel the craving try eating smaller portions of the brownie until you reach the point to feel satisfied just by taking a bite out of it and simultaneously substitute it with a healthy food . If you try to take your craving once and for all, you might find it accumulating and when you fell like eating a brownie, guess what? You will end up eating the whole pan again.
I hope this helps you out!

One is a lot better than the whole pan that is for sure. Some people do better staying away from whatever they are addicted to permanently. Some people let themselves have a small bit of it and savor it. Why do you think that you crave one specific food? Are you torturing yourself so that you can't make your goal weight?
I feed myself lots of veggies since they are healthy and low cal and some lean protein and drink water and tea. The cravings pass... I don't bring home chips, cookies, candies or other crap that I have decided not to eat. It helps to fill up on veggies & beans.
Best wishes for healthy choices.

On the indulge or not topic I don't believe that if you deny yourself something for a while each time you crave it, you will suddenly gorge yourself with the sweet fattening food. That is a common idea which I haven't found to be true for many people.
We crave sugar, fat & salt because we are addicted to them. Make absolutely sure that you are eating very healthy food and see if the craving doesn't disappear over a month.
I think of super sweet or fatty foods as poison and I'm not trying to get sick or fatter so why put dog doo in my mouth? Powerful image paired with craving, yuck, disgusting, craving gone. Now for healthy greek yogurt and blue berries.

I buy the Special K Brownie Bites. I keep them handy when I get a craving for Chocalate or Peanut Butter Brownies. I also keep on hand Weight Watchers Cakes, Lemon or Chocalate for those days when I want to eat a cake. They have about 80 calories each.
