Losing weight is about burning more than you eat. For that, you can move more, eat less, or do both. Fitbit can help you with both aspects (exercise, nutrition). Regarding the nutrition side, see the nice posts by @SebringDon in Fitbit's Food Plan Demystified.

Change food habits gradually, try when desired eating natural foods overall, keep longer satisfied on less calories automatically.
See which foods leave satisfied longer, or which foods even eated plenty from leave still hungry.
Notice your bodies signals when feeling needing to force feed your precious body, and the plan tells it's possible to have more, listen to your body instead. It may be possible to have eaten more than logged or the foods eaten containing more calories.. than listed on the package.
Listen to your body when possible, see how it goes.
