Hello all!
I am a IT Student who in the passed 2 years has gained 30lbs, and gained 50lbs total since 2011.
It creeps up on you, first you notice small red stretchmarks on one hip, then the other and soon you become okay with accepting your body when you shouldnt.
With all the balancing acts of life i've commited to my health and finally bought a fit bit charge hr. (should arrive in the next couple of days) ebay had a nice deal for $99 so i took advantage and got a teal one.
I am 5'10.5" and 217lbs. I use to be 167-170lbs and most likely i could of slimmed to 155 with the right diet back then.
Ive been "Flexitarian"(I try to avoid milk, cheese at all costs, no meat whatsoever) for the last 1.5 years but without much exercise at all.
Ive got my meal prep and my workouts set, and once this tracker comes its go time.
Just wanted to share my story, and put forth positive affirmation that each day I will be better then the last version of myself.
🙂
Cheers

First of all, congrats for your decision and your new Fitbit! Many of us reached your conclusion well into middle-age, so you’re definitely in the game earlier rather than later! Younger age gives you several advantages (higher metabolism, more elastic skin etc.).
Given you avoid milk, cheese and meat, I’m wondering where you get your proteins from? Getting enough protein is crucial for weight loss, as it’s a condition for preserving existing muscle and it also tends to be more satiating.

Hey hey! Thanks for the kind words and positivity!
I get most of my proteins from legumes and good grain rice like quinoa. Staple in 90% of what i eat. I follow the 21df ratio for my weight.
weight :217
baselind:2387
cal target:2037
group 1800-2099 cal(5-3-5-4-1-1-5) numbers are the particular container ratios

You’ll have to decrypt the jargon for me:
1) what’s the "21df ratio"?
2) what are "group "1800-2099 cal(5-3-5-4-1-1-5) numbers"?
I assume "baseline:2387" is your total daily expenditure (TDEE) and 2037 your intake, resulting in a 350 calories deficit, right?
