Body Measurements

ANSWERED

Is there a way to add a component to the dashboard that I can input body measurements for further tracking. I would rather have all that information in one place instead of keeping a notebook for measurements....

If not, I think that would be an ideal feature to add.

You can log measurements. Click on Log, select Weight and page down. Towards the bottom of the page you'll see a link to click on for adding measurements.

I know that myfittnesspal and Fitbit work together and you can do measurements on that site.

Ahh! Thanks! I missed that.

Know of any plans to add that to the app?

I'm afraid not, but you could write to them and suggest it. The tape measure never lies, it would be a good thing to add to the app - or at least a note/journal section.

I don't see a way to export measurement data from myfitnesspal although it is good that one can post their measurements there.

These were removed! Why were they removed? Isn't this what fitbit is supposed to be all about?

bhahaha! No, fitbit isn't about overall fitness; it is just about expensive wrist-bands that tell you how many steps you've taken in a day.

I personally agree it’s a pity they were removed, but it’s not the end of the world either. Since you must manually write them down anyway and you are typically not doing it every day, you can just as well enter them in your own Google Sheet or equivalent. And you can then draw fancier graphs than was possible in Fitbit.

I'm actually most bummed because I wanted to recall the measurements I made 2 years ago when I bought my fitbit 😞

When Fitbit decided to retire that feature, they sent you an e-mail on Aug-14, 2015 ("Important Notice: We're retiring a few logging features") that pointed to this post.
