Calorie counter

Could someone please explain the calorie counter on my fitbit? I did nothing active but some walking in my office and it says I burned 2000+ calories. That can't be. Do I need to modify something to be more accurate? Please advise.

was it 2000 calories for the day or for the activity? If for the activity you are correct- impossible. If for the day, possible since it tracks your BMR calorie burn - which is what you burn to stay alive and function. This will be based on your information entered- age, height, weight, etc.

As @emili said, what you burn really depends on your age and your size (weight/height), in addition to your gender (which is the only thing we know about you). Find out what your BMR is, for instance using this online calculator. This is what you burn by merely breathing and staying alive. Any activity you do during the day (even just walking in your office) goes on top of it. Fitbit uses more or less the same formula to estimate the calories you burn during the day, so this will give you an idea.

Take a look at the Fitbit help site for further assistance and information.
