Calorie goal confusion ?

Hey all. Just a quick question I can't seem to get my head around. If I set my goal at say -500cal, does my "calories left" number take me to my deficit ? Or do I need to leave 500 calories in my "calories left" bit to achieve my goal ?

Hi @Tvow3021

When having set up a food plan, the food plan displays how many calories can be eaten total for the day and stay within the deficit zone.

On the  webpage not the app, go to log food, then under the heading Food Plan you will see a small blue wheel, click on it for 2 options. They are fun to play with.

I set my own calorie goal based on a diet from a dietician, I will post again, if I can find where I entered that specific calorie value. I know it is there somewhere, just having trouble finding it again.

I'll be happy to provide you with the steps about how to change the daily calorie intake! I apologize for the delayed reply. In order to change the calorie intake, you need to edit your Food Plan:

1. Log into your Dashboard, then click the gear icon in the lower left corner of either the "Food Plan" or "Calories In vs. Out" tile.

2. Click the pencil icon next to "Plan Intensity".

3. Select your plan intensity from the pop-up window and click the arrows in the lower right corner until your Food Plan has been adjusted to your preferred amount. Your food plan will now be set.

If you feel that the goals that are set for each food plan aren't ok for each of you, you can always set your own calorie goal.

However, the amount of calories intake won't change even though you're more or less active in days.

- Go to your Dashboard

- Click on the gear icon of "Food Plan" tile

- Click the the pencil icon next to " Plan Intensity"

- Click on "Food Plan"

- Below the Food Plans that we offer there's "Set my own calorie target"

- Click on that and enter your preferred calorie intake goal

I prefer to have my dietician set my calorie limit and nutritional needs.

When I do more I lose more weight and/or I gain more muscle... but I still recieve adequate nutrition.

To stay within my calorie goal I have to avoid all junk. I am never hungry. I was missing soft drinks (Soda). I will be taking my daughters advise and buy a 'Soda Stream' and drink water with lemon and/or lime... I prefer it to Cola.. it require a little bit of effort but effort earns steps.

I just keep telling myself that I can throw a good meal together as quickly as I can buy take-away as long as I do some prep most weekends.
