Calories burned on a day

ANSWERED

Hi,

I bought my fitbit charge 3 this week. But i have some questions regarding the calories burned on a day.

on this foto (https://imgur.com/qxLOD4W) you can see that I already burned 2952 today. I had a 5km run and burned 368 during this exercise. That means that over the rest of the day i burned 2952-368 = 2583 calories. Now my bmr is around 2016 calories a day. So at this time I burned 1638 just to let my body work. So 2583-1638 = 945 left.. So where does these calories come from. Just the steps i took during the day? Seems a bit odd that 9576 burns 945. Just wanna understand how these calculations work. I wanna lose some fat so its important that the calories i burn in a day are somewhat precise. Hope somebody can help me and explain it to me 🙂

Thanks in advance!!

you are doing great so far man keep it up! So much weight loss is incredible mad respect for that. If i do understand it correctly you are on a 750 calorie deficit a day and your intake is 2100 a day average? Does your fitbit says you are in a 750 calorie deficit as well?

Fitbit says that I burn about 3400 a day, so it is off about 300 to 400 a day.  Once I knew what the difference was, it was easier to adjust my intake.  The difference may be do to the length of time I have been losing,  as my body hates to give back pounds....Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

I have used several different food tracking apps - Lose It, My fitness Pal and the Fitbit app.  I find the Fitbit app is nice because there are no in-app ads making entering data faster.  MFP and Lose It databases appear more accurate and I liked that Lose It had a daily calorie adjuster to account for Metabolism differences.  All the apps have good points and limitations.

I will be interested to see what happens with my deficit and weight over the upcoming weeks. Right know i am in a 1000 calorie deficit according to my fitbit so i should lose 2 pounds a week. Currently burning around 3000/3500 calories a day and eating around 2000/2500. Logging everything in mfp and i love the app. I will take in note that the calories burned on the fitbit may be off, but i will wait and see and could always adjust my intake.

Hope that the New Galaxy Watch works out - I would be willing to dump the Fitbit if newer tech turns out to be more accurate.....
