Can you disable BMI?

ANSWERED

Yes I know I need to lose weight, and yes I know I am at a less then healthy weight for my height.  But I have a very athletic build (think line backer), and I know for a fact I am not "morbidly obese" as the BMI chart claims.  I'm 6' 243 lbs and wear a 36 in waist pant, as a reference.  Even though I know this is totally inaccurate it's kind of disheartening to see it every time I log onto the dashboard.  I would be so much happier just seeing my BF% and weight displayed only.

Yes, on Profile, and even there it defaults to Weight and shows NO BMI unless I click on it.

But I can't find anywhere on Dashboard (assuming the correct term was used since it is called that afterall) where you could even add BMI to show.

Edit - Found it, when you look at the Weight tile Monthly details, shows current BMI, with option to see the monthly change.

And indeed, no option to hide those stats.

My dashboard does not show the BMI chart. Where do you find this?

@Heybales@chutch23BMI is shown in your Profile with your weight, click on that. I have a Premium account and a non-premium account and they both show BMI.

I have just checked the "old" Dashboard prior to tiles and you have BMI there which you could hide with the weight.

Hmmm frustrating.  I don't want to hide the tile completely I do want to track my weight and BF%.  I guess I have to just get good at ignoring it.

How did such a wildly inaccurate scale of measure become the standard?  It seems crazy to me that everyone didnt laugh Adolphe Quetelet out of the room when he conceived of it... of course perhaps its our fault for sticking with a system that was invented in the 1800's.  End rant.

I'd say laziness.

Formula was created for looking at large population statistics where it could be useful.

Someone probably looking at how can we get some useful individual info for use in insurance industry, and for our cause to claim it's epidemic so we can get government money for our use.

That's why several years ago the BMI levels and numbers were adjusted so more were put in to the obese grouping. More people are now instantly obese, we need money for our cause!
