Cardio and weight training

Do you prefer to do cardio before or after weights? What about fasted cardio? Does too much cardio burn muscle?

Hello & welcome @Le6acy

Great questions.

  1.  It all depends on what goals you're trying to achieve. Cardio before weights is good for building endurance. Weights before cardio builds muscle strength. I prefer cardio before weights so my muscles are warmed up and ready for strength training.
  2. Sorry, I'm not familiar with fasted cardio so I don't have any feedback on this one.
  3. Yes, too much cardio can burn muscle. You want to develop a good exercise plan that includes cardio, strength training, and for "older" folk, balance training.
