Cardio workouts

So i am looking for different exersizes to lose weight. I know cardio is a good thing to do, but what kind of cardio workouts? i need to work on getting my mile time down by about 2 mins to be able to go to my leadership academy by the end of the school year, will just running be enough, or do i need other work outs? my teacher reccomended doing the progressive aerobic cadriovascular endurance run (PACER), but i want to see what cardio exersizes you all do.

Hi edge317! You're right, cardio IS great for losing weight. BUT, for optimal weight loss you need to do more than just cardio. What is your current mile time? I'm a marathon runner and recently took an hour and 15 minutes off of my marathon time so may have some suggestions!
