College Student looking for tips

ANSWERED

Hey everyone! So just a little background on me. I'm a college student who is very busy with honors classes, clubs, and being on the executive board for several committees. I try to go to the gym daily. I run at least two miles and do abs every day. I also follow a pattern of legs, chest/shoulders, then arms which i switch up every day. I'm still not seeing the results I want and I know that even the healthiest choices at my dining hall aren't the greatest options. I'm just looking for some tips on how to continue my weight loss journey that don't take up large amounts of time because I don't want my grades to slip. I definitely do not want to gain the "Freshman 15" and I'd like to continue to lose weight for my trip to England this summer. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks everyone! 🙂

Throw in some cardio workouts in there. I found that when I did the same as you, following a religious run & core training every day and various weight targets on my body I saw less results. I started incorporating Les Mills workout programs 2 times a week to take the place of my run/weight program that day. I get much better results that way. As far as diet concerns, I am not a college student but I do work full time and have 2 children who keep me busy with dance & baseball. I always keep healthy snacks on me. Granola bars, popcorn, bananas or apples, stuff that will keep me from grabbing food on the go.

Good luck 🙂

I would also add some mobility/flexiblity work in there, such as yoga. Sometimes your muscles need a stretching and loving to get the results you want. Just doing an extra 10 min mobility/acitve stretching before you workout and then at least 10 mins of deep stretching post workout will make a world of difference in your workouts and results. Also, I totally understand the challenge of eating healthy in college (I'm in the same boat). I try to eat about 5 times a day instead of 3 because the portions are smaller and it keeps your metabolism up. Keep up the good work!

Might sound like a silly suggestion, but try doing workouts during commercail breaks or themed around a TV show or movie you watch. You can find one or create your own, but this could be a form of circuit training to do while doing comethig that may already be part of your schedule.
