I just got the force. I am not sure it will help me much though. I use weight watchers points system, so I log my food into a weight watchers tracking app and won't want to enter it again in a different app. I run, but the fitbit force isn't accurate enough to track my runs and help me analyze them. It's cool to see how much you sleep, but as a mom of small kids, I get sleep when I can. How can I use the fitbit force in my life to help motivate me to lose weight? Perhaps a garmin for my runs would be more useful?

Welcome! I have a Garmin forerunner, loved it for many years but found that what is true statistically was also true for me, runners and other exercisers tend to become very efficient when not actually "exercising" and actually tend do less overall. You probably don't because you have little ones but I work from home on a laptop all day. The fitbit fixes that, I wear it every day, I don't bother tracking my sleep but it does motivate me to move more.
I passed my weight goal long ago and have maintained easily thanks to logging daily with fitbit. It is a really easy system.
I'll use my Garmin again when I am actually training for something. Or, maybe I'll sell it so someone else can.
Best,

I use both. Got the Force & Garmin FR220 for Christmas. I have small wrists so I was concerned about wearing both at the same time, but I don't think it will be too bad. I took it out for a five mile run and stopped noticing it after awhile.
The fitbit motivates me to move more when I'm not running. I've actually started going for walks on my breaks, sometimes going up and down the stairs a few times. It's made me a lot more aware of my overall daily activity.
The Garmin is also very useful. It (with the HRM) has a different calorie and distance count (I haven't figured out how to set up my stride length) so I just add that in afterwards as an activity. But the garmin is also very motivating I am finding out. I got a record mile in the last run of my 5 miler... My second sub-10 mile I've recorded when not racing and not really trying to go fast(!). Wouldn't have done that without the ability to see my pace constantly. 🙂
