I'm also a busy mom, work full time and my kids play sports. During the day at work I'm constantly on the phone. I bring healthy granola bars, fruits (apples, banana etc) and nuts (almonds are the best). Sometimes even peanut butter and celery or cucumbers. Something that is packed with good fuel to keep you going.

I also try to have "healthy" fast food options when I have absolutely no other option. My go to's are
Wendy's Small chilli poured on a side salad
Subway 6 in veggie delight with sweet onion sauce
McDonalds Southwest salad with Grilled Chicken (southwest dressing)

Jimmy John's.
You can order online and have them deliver. Every sandwich is available as a lettuce wrap. Prices are reasonable.

My go to on the run breakfast (if I dont even have 5 min at home)
- Starbucks egg and cheese english muffin WITHOUT THE CHEESE
or
- Starbucks chocolate protein shake (most of the time with a double shot espresso in it LOL)
Now.... I have to say, if you are a little bit prepared at the beginning of the week with a box of washed baby spinach, almond milk, a protein shake powder (vanilla for example) and ice cubes and peeled bananas in the freezer you can make an AMAZING shake in under 7 minutes!
Promise! I did it today in 4 min - using a Cuisineart blender that attaches the take-out-sippy-cup right on top. Like the ninja or bullet or whatever they are called.
Literallly under 5 min and you get
- veggies (2 cups of spinach)
- 1 cup almond milk (protein, minerals, vitamins etc)
- 1 fruit (banana has potassium ... makes you happy!)
- 20g+ protein (use a high quality protein shake you like - I swear by shakeology but every taste is different, dont skimp on this, because this is where most of your nutrients come from)
- fibre, probiotics, micronutrients, antioxidants and enzymes that make your tummy happy (in the veggies and protein shake powder)
Flip it, put on the lid, straw and go!
Colour looks awful but the taste was AMAZING and with the protein shake included it filled me up for 5 hours - a real meal replacement.

LOL I know but if you fill it in a cup that is coloured or even steel walled you wont see it! 🙂 That's what I did in the beginning. Now I like the look of people on the subway when I slurp my green monster. LOL
This morning I had mine while I was doing my 45 min walk with the dog. Yummy Yummy

I like to meal prep on Sunday for the entire week. I make a whole week's worth of mason jar salads, or bento box style lunches with a protein, veggies, whole grain, and snack (usually nuts, cheese, or fruit). If you don't have a bento box, regular tupperware with muffin tin liners inside work just as well. And just in case I get stuck out longer than expected, I always have at least one extra protein bar in my purse (the trick is finding it in there lol).
