After 6 months of struggling to get my eating under control and close to where it should be, I'm finally seeing some results on the scale. My Fitbit has helped me tremendously. My start weight was 204 and I am now at 198.8. It is such a great feeling to be under 200! This is just the motivation I need to keep going to the gym and to keep losing this weight.
If you're in a plateau, just keep at it and you will break through it. I did it by being more mindful of what I eat. When I want an ice cream cone, I am now able to stop and ask myself if I'm hungry or is there some emotion attached to the craving. Either way, I've been passing by the Dairy Queen. To toot my own horn, "Yeah, FabulousMe!!"

what kind of Fitbit are you using? are you using the cals in and cals out or another program besides?

I have the Blaze and absoluately love it! I track not only cals in/cals out, but steps, sleep, exercise, and water intake to see where I need to make adjustments to my program. I am following the recommendations of my personal trainer on what to eat or not eat. Basically, it's a simple-to-follow high protein, low carb plan. I also see a Life Coach twice a month to work through my issues with emotional eating.

This is great, way to go! You may also want to consider tracking body measurements (other than by noticing you’re starting to float in your clothes) as well as body fat (by getting a Fitbit Aria smartscale, if you don’t already have one, see this recent discussion).

Actually, it was @FabulousMe I was trying to "upsell" to. There were two items I was "upselling": one was the Aria scale (which is arguably expensive), the other one was a tape meter (which won’t break the bank and which many probably already have in their households).
