Fitbit and acupressure? Anyone?

Is anyone in here using their fitbit along with acupressure in order to lose weight? If so, I'm curious as to how you are using it.

So far, I'm using the alarms to reminde me to rotate the beads every 2 hours and I'm using the weight and food tracker, but I haven't had much use for the step tracker. Is anyone using the beads and walking/running? If so, how does it affect your weight loss?

Also, if you are tracking your sleep, have you noticed changes in your sleep pattern since starting the acupressure?

I've used Accupuncture but mainly from a stress relief and blood pressure standpoint.  Weight loss was  secondary aspect.  I only did it once a week for a couple of months.

I had zero success in regards to weight loss.  I weighed 300lbs when I started, and weighed 300lbs when I stopped.  My blood pressure may have been reduced a little, but not much.  I was high, 160/90 at the start, and was about 155/85 when I stopped.  Stress levels was the only success I may have had with it... just that I didn't feel so rushed/panicked...  My sleep improved a little at this time, but only because I didn't wake as much.

When I gave that up, and realized that I needed exercise, and a change in diet, that's when I noticed a big difference.  35 lbs later, my BP is in pre-hyperstensive areas now, and I don't feel anywhere near as stressed.  Now I'm really sleeping better.

I really wanted to believe in Accupuncture, but I just can't validate it scientifically.  By day, I'm a computer programmer.  I am also a Licensed Massage Therapist and had hope that Accupuncture would work.  For me, the facts didn't back it up.  When I look at the sleep improvement during that time, I still can't prove that Accupuncture was the cause of me sleeping a little better.

I strongly suspect that if you use accupressure along with your Fitbit to lose weight, it's going to be the walking and food tracking that help you, not any kind of beads. I'm not sure what you mean about not having any use for the step tracker, since that's the main function of the fitbit. *headtilt*

I'm sorry it didn't work for you, but I think we.may be talking about two different things and I should have been more specific....

I'm more interested in those using accupressure beads for weight loss (e.g bead diet, acutrim, act - weigh loss programs etc.) I've been on a detox with the beads for 8 days now through a program in NY and I'm down 14 pounds already.  Another friend manage to lose 85 pounds over the course of 7 months. So I'm wondering if anyone else is on a program similar to this and if they are using their fitbit with it.

I'm not familiar with the beads you're referring to.  I just thought Accupuncture because Accupressure is based on the premise of Accupuncture and it's Meridians and pressure points where the needle (or pressure if referring to Accupressure) is placed.

I read about this, because you had me curious. I would say based on the diet you should definitley talk to your GP first.

I understand that the Fitbit is a pedometer, but I actually haven't been using it to count steps at all. I have been using it to track my weight, water, food, sleep and as mentioned, I'm using the alarms.
