Fitbit friends?

Hi all,

Just wonduring if anyone finds having Fitbit Friends really does help improve their daily fitness achievements? I'm currently studying full time and with exams starting and working when I can it can be a bit difficult to hit my goals every day... I saw on the fitbit app that apparently people with Fitbit Friends are 27% more active than those without? Not sure how accurate that statistic is so just wondering if anyone finds having friends on the app helpful?

@Aleisha_ - I know that having friends pushes me to do just a few extra steps most days.  I recently posted in the friends thread looking for friends who do slightly more steps than I currently do.  I know long term I'm competitive enough that I'll do more steps to catch them.  I think it's best when you have friends who aren't too far ahead of you.  Although when I first started I thought I'd never catch the people who were ahead of me.  I've passed them and working on the next people....

Duh, I meant to add the link:  https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Be-Inspired/Looking-for-Fitbit-Friends-Find-some-here/m-p/1257283#U1...

Hi

Getting / Staying Fit can be with normal walking. Though it's possible to use Fitstar* for example to aid getting leaner & stronger faster when desired. Those exercises can be done anywhere with your own precious body, no gym equipment needed. Can be done at own pace (listen to your body as well if needing to stop during a exercise if feeling to sore).. possible to rest instead and proceed working out when feeling better again..

It's about changing body composition, wanting to decrease body fat and increase muscle mass to get more toned, lean and wanting to be strong, not weak when reaching your goals. Cat Embarassed

Combine with healthy eating (if not already doing) for faster results. When hungry, filling up on natural foods overall providing your precious body with all nutritients it needs on lower calories overall. Impossible to overeat on those even if eating until comfortable satisfied (try not eating until stuffed) as it's a sign having eated more than enough and can lead to overeating in the longer run..

Though even if feeling stuffed on having eated natural foods, still unlikely to have overeated cause leaving satisfied for longer and filling up on lower calories than preprocessed foods (higher in calories, not leaving as satisfied).

No good or bad foods, personally aim to have 90% natural foods and 10% on 'junk foods', as it's not denying your favourite treats and must be sustainable in the longer run.

Never eat something you don't like if possible when hungry to eat what you do like to have. As if otherwise eating what you don't like first, going to have what you truly desire anyway. When allowing to eat what you truly desire first, not really needing the other food you didn't like to have. Saving lots of calories in the longer run and satisfied for longer as giving your body what it truly desired to have in the moment.

* It's free, though unlocking all features requires a yearly premium subscription of about the price of a console game. No need to go to a gym, the videos are very clear how a exercise must be done. It's explained how it must be done.. Cat Wink

There's a Fitstar Fit Test when starting using (possible to sign in with your fitbit account), it's possible to give feedback and the app gradually builds up exercises based on your fitness level,.. on the feedback given (for example if mentioning a certain exercise is to easy or it was just fine or to tough to do..)..

There are programs (for example to exercise 2 days a week when just starting) to 6 days a week or 3 - 4 days a week depending on which program chosen and the intensity / duration of the exercises.

There's always resting days, as no need to exercise daily and allow your precious body to recover and grow the muscles.

I don't have any Fitbit friends yet - please send me a friend request if you want to! I'm fairly low-key and needing motivation to get more steps in and drop some pounds. Let's support each other!

I am not sure how to add friends yet, but I am Lash107 if anyone wants to be friends.

Have a great day!
