Hi guys newby  here (need a waving emoticon )

Sooooo as wiv all new things I am so into my new Fitbit Charge HR, bought for me by my son for my birthday (lucky me)

Started a proper diet a week ago, logging all food tying it in with the exercise I do, sounds good right?

8,000+ cals in deficit for the week which should equate to about 2lbs and it being the first week I was hoping for 3 or 4, so what do I get?  Woman Frustrated

1lb one solitary single lb.  Sigh !

ah well gotta still be getting fitter and healthier

Weight loss is about consistency and long-term commitment, not instant gratification. If switching from sedentary to very active, you could initially be gaining water weight. That could explain the smaller than expected weight loss.

You are already capable of high step counts (as per your profile😞

It takes some people several months before they can reach even the default 10,000 steps, so you’re in a good situation. Try to hit that goal as many days as you can. Get some Fitbit friends, take part in challenges, use the new hourly activity feature. All the best in your endeavour!

Thank you Dominique, I know you're right I was just having a tantrum lol

I don't give up that easily so your input is very helpful .

I love to walk but I won't be hitting 19k steps every day that took me 2hours45 mins to achieve but enjoyed it anyway.

Wow! I didn't know people could view your profile exercise thingy like that, how fascinating.

In your profile, you can check what various people (you, your friends, anyone) can see:

If you wish to change this, click on View account settings (upper right corner), then Personal Info > Privacy. Yo will be able to define what people in each of the three groups (you, friends, anyone) can and cannot see. Things like weight and sleep data are private by default (only you can see them), but step data is not.

In the early days, one activity you could manually log was "sexual activity", with various intensity levels (e.g. "light effort" or "vigorous effort"). At the time, these activities were public! For the spicy details, see:

@SpiffyGirl- welcome and kudos for having a tantrum and for recognizing it for what it is. you are on your way. There will be days when it will seem hard and exhausting, but the reward will come. Keep us posted on your success, best, E.

Sometimes, @Dominique, if one forgets to take his HR off when in bed the SmartTrack may just record a Bicycle ride.  I guess it is the bumpy ride!  Smiley Happy
