Have over 100 pounds to lose and wanting some Fitbit friends

Hi, I have well over 100 pounds to lose and could use some Fitbit friends to share stats with.  I don't post much, but I love watching the two friends that I already have, and how their stats add up against mine.  One friend and I keep taking turns being in the lead and the other I cannot even come close to catching.  I probably only average 6-8,000 steps a day right now.  I am doing Weight Watchers and hoping to lose a large chunk of weight this year.  If you want to be friends, please send me a friend request.  You can click on my profile and send it that way.  Thanks!

I, too, am in need of friends. I've been doing Weight Watchers all Summer and have lost over 20 lbs. I still have over 100 to go. Its now time for me to add exercise. I just got my Flex on Tuesday. Looking forward to amping things up!

Emmy,

Kudos on your weight and wellness goals!!  From someone who was over 130 pounds overweight back in Oct 2013.  I got my Fitbit Zip as a birthday present in Feb 2014 and it was a welcome addition to my weight loss campaign.  Better able to track my steps, calories burned, mileage, and active minutes and weight.

Stick with it.  There will be days when you just don't want to drag yourself out of bed.  Just keep your focus and do it.  You'll get there.  I did.

Hi Cattle_Chick.  I would love to be your friend.

I lost 20 pounds from April to October 2014. Then I lost focus and quickly gained 10 back 😞  I hope I will get back on track this week.

Ok, lets be friends! I need help getting back on track after the holidays. i’ve lost 70lbs total over time, but still want 10 more gone. that will put me at 140 and a size 6! But I’ve gained a bit lately, not wearing fitbit, not following weight watchers, too much wine, sweets, carbs. So tomorrow Im back to work back to the plan. really wish you luck you CAN do this. i even have thyroid disease, so don’t let people tell you that you can’t, or to lower your expectations. You will get there. Just be patient.

I have about 150lbs to lose myself. I just started using my fitbit even though I've had it for a couple of months. Decided to stop procrastinating. Feel free to add me if you like.

Good luck

Remember time passes whether you workout or not- might as well work out

Lose it slow and steady. Don't look too far ahead.

Best of luck!

Hey everyone!

I am Birgit, live in Toronto, Canada and started out with having 102 lbs to lose. Since January 2015 I managed to get rid of 35 lbs - mainly eating right, but also being motivated to get more steps in every day.

Now I found the community here and it would be nice to find some like minded friends who are "in the same boat" for the remaining 67 lbs.

My goal is to lose 1.5 lbs per week (or 6-7 lbs per month). So this is definitely a long term thing. Hoping to be there in about a year.

Hi All,

I'm Susan, I have 135lbs to loose. I just got my fitbit flex on Monday. I'm still figureing it all out. I would like to have the weight gone by this time next year, that is my goal.

I am a stay at home mom. All my kids are older the youngest just turned 17. I try to make it to the gym Monday- Friday. I walk on the tredmill for aobut 30 minutes and then do the weight machines. I alternate lower body and upper body everyother day. I try and watch what I eat but to be truthful I'm not very good at it.

I hope to make new friends and get incouragement from all you fine folks.

Hey Susan!

I just read a really interesting book: www.thedietfix.com

It pretty much says that 80% of weightloss is achieved in the kitchen, i.e. how and what you eat. And the best thing to start is a food diary to visualize how many calories you are taking in.

I also learned that I can't "outrun my fork" - meaning: even if I am at the gym every single day, it's very unlikely to be able to make up for the calories I would eat if I wasnt diligent with my food diary.

It has helped me TONS.... or let's say 35 lbs that I have lost so far.

I HATE working out, that's why I don't do it, so kudos to you for being so diligent!!

What I do is walk walk walk... even short walks with my dogs, once around the block, make a difference. And I enjoy those much more than a "real" work out.

Anyway - I hope you are enjoying your fitbit and the many tools it offers! To me it's really been a great motivator and the community here just adds the cherry on top!!

All the best for your journey!
