I am the exact same weight as I was when I got my Flex 3 1/2 months ago!
How about you?
I'm hoping with Spring here and Summer around the corner, that my walking will increase.

You can’t walk/out run a bad diet! Weight management is about eating the right food avoiding refined carbs, sugar, and starchy foods as well as taking moderate exercise (if all people do is exercise, then as you get older and unable to keep up the pace, the weight will return).

Maintaining weight after a big loss is more difficult than losing weight in
the first place. by walking 12k to 15K per day, I have been able to hold
my weight steady for 18 months after losing over 50 pounds. Without lots
of steps, I would be back where I was 3 years ago.

Totally agree with you. My goal is the 12K plus a day and a sensible healthy diet. With this I have been able to maintain my weight as well. I am "in it to win it!" I love fitbit and the community that helps so much to keep me motivated. The challenges are great I enjoy the motivation those give me too.

This is an interesting point of discussion and something I am aware of. I lost 2 and a half stone since I started, it's been about 15 months now and I have stayed at my current weight.
Some days I exercise and do more activity than others but I wouldn't want my activity level to be the factor behind the weight loss and subsequent maintenance because what if I become ill, injured or otherwise housebound for whatever reason? I wouldn't want to suddenly gain weight because I couldn't keep up with the level of intensity of my exercise, so I rely on calorie counting and I eat differently than I did before I lost weight.
The way I see it is that my diet choices and calorie intake is controlled so as to not gain unwanted weight and exercise is a beneficial addition for all round health. There is a cross over though because obviously being more active, you are burning more calories and you can consume more calories but if those extra calories are consumed on a regular basis with little or no activity, it makes sense that weight gain would occur.
If you're eating the right amount of healthy calories based on your energy expenditure, intense exercise or no exercise shouldn't play a role in weight maintenance.I enjoy exercise but I certainly wouldn't want to go flat out day in day out just to maintain my current weight, eventually that would prove to be just too much.

After achieving the 25lbs weight lost badge 293 times, I have finally got my 30lb badge. Almost 23 months in and staying the course. I celebrated with a new T-shirt for the gym.

Yes, I've got a Fitbit the day I got serious about weight loss. I started at 315 and am currently at 198lbs.
Just seeing my activity levels, steps, calories burned was motivating.

@GamerGodSP : congrats for your impressive weight loss! How long did it take you to go from 315 to 198? How did your actual weight loss compare to the loss predicted by Fitbit? And have you found that – as you got closer to your current weight – it took a higher caloric deficit to lose each pound (compared to what it took at the beginning of your journey)?

I lost about 55 pounds 3 years ago and have only gained about 12 pounds
back. I have stayed totally for almost 2.5 years now. I walk at least 12k
per day and average about 15k

Good Morning, sometimes just getting help and suggestions is a good start. I honestly begain just increasing my movement and steps. Making sure I was getting at least 250 or more steps per hour. Making a change in my diet by making small changes every week. You can do it! Eliminate one item from your diet that's not good is a start, and making increases in your movement. I have just this month lost 15 pounds changing my diet and getting in more steps daily. I trainer is great, but just get started. Good luck, remember it is war and ongoing battle to stay on track
