Hello,
I received my fitbit as a gift last year. I was so motivated and lost 30 lbs with my fitbit. Since september I have gained 12 lbs back and I do not feel motivated at all. I want to get back into health and fitness. If anyone wants to add my be my friend that would be wonderful.
Thanks,
Sierra
Best AnswerHi Sierra,
I'm Steve, aged 60, and currently live in Sydney, we are looking to retire back in the UK in around 18 months from now.
I also received my Fitbit Charge HR from my Son-in-Law as a Christmas Gift. It took me a week to pluck up the courage to set it up and look through what it has to offer. WOW, what great information. A bit scarry if you are completely honest with the food and drink consumption!!! But hey ho.....
3 days into this stuff now and really impressed with how it helps with motivation etc
Anyway at 60, my goal is to get to a sub 80kg weight and >94cm waist - currently 87.5 kg and 107cm waist.
Like yourself I reached 96kg (I'm not saying you are 96kg here!!), went on a 'Get Fit' binge and got down to 77kg, then went on a 6 week holiday which included a Cruise on Allure of The Seas......I'll say no more..... - now back to 87kg+ and also very unmotivated.
I believe just sharing my achievments using the Fitbit with a complete stranger may just help me keep motivated.
There you are ...my story so far - please let me know what your goals are and we can share progress if you wish.
Either way, I wish you well with your endeavours.
All the very best and have a happy (and healthy) New Year.
Best regards,
Steve B

Best Answerhello,
Well I have a two things in common with the first two people here. I have the same weight and measurements as Steve and I have a dog like Sierra.
I have gone and signed myself up to a fitbit and a 'sprint' triathlon (very short distance triathlon) in order to motivate myself into getting this weight and my measurements shifted and ultimately improve my health.
I was quite inpired by some of the outdoor swimming events in Australia that I have seen on the web, but the sea is too cold here to motivate myself that much.
My dog is lovin my fitbit and is gets super charged up when I get my walking shoes or cycling boots on.
I have also just gone and got myself a waterproof cycling top so that I can cycle in the rain and be seen in the dark. Don't be mistaken In my head I am motivated, I've just got to get my body to catch up and join the ride/game so to speak.
Aiming to smash 8,000 steps per day and lose weight is 7lb chunks, so that I don't fail miserably with huge targets to hit.
