There have definitely been times when the after dinner hour rolls around and the thought of chocolate sends my mother watering into overdrive!
Do you find yourself craving sweets after every meal?
It MAY be because you're not incorporating enough healthy fats in your diet.
Fat fuels our bodies just like proteins and carbs do, meaning it gives us a SMALL amount of energy. What's not used by the body turns to sugar which can turn to fat cells that are the stubborn kind of fat to lose.
That's why it's so important to eat healthy fats that the body can use that will also tell the body it is satisfied - leaving less room for sugar cravings.
Next time you're at the grocery store, go for the avocado and salmon, not the donuts!
And until your body adjusts, scoop a tablespoon of peanut butter for dessert instead 😉
Hope this helps!!
Erica

I thought and still think the same thing. My big problem is that 2 tbsp of peanut butter are 190 calories (or 180, or 200, depending on the brand). And....2 tbsp of peanut butter ...that's just not enough. To taste the stuff, I need to use 4 - and after the bread calories, it's just way too much at one setting. So, I've taken to using PB2 and combining it with it - keeps the numbers in check.

Homemade guacamole sounds like heaven!
Once you adjust to a clean eating plan (with healthy fats), you won't even crave the sweet stuff nore need more than a tablespoon of peanut butter.
It's also okay to go to bed hungry! It's an adjustment, but worth it in the long run 😉

I get what you are saying but adding 200 or more calories of fat to a meal that probobly already contained fat?
I'm no expert but we crave sugar because our bodies (especially our brains) run on it. We have to convert everything else into glucose to use it. If you already had enough calories in your meal, then just wait for your body to convert some to gucose and you'll break the after-meal sweets habit after awhile.
I eat mostly fruit & veg so I don't have this problem.
