Walking is quite inefficient so burns high calories/kj for the distance travelled but it is slow. I've started cycling again and burn around 14 calories per minute, cmopared to 8 calories per minute walking. I think the secret is to get your heart rate up slightly so that you feel like you're working harder than if you just stroll around.
Also, smaller meal size helps. I know when I started with fitbit/my fitness pal I was shocked at how much I was eating.

I would try using a sauna if you can! I've burned up to 75 calories for sitting in the sauna for 20 mintues! It also helps you to not be sore after going to the gym. Let your muscles hear up for 15 or so minutes and spend 5 minutes streching while your muscles are warm and at their maximum elasticity. I usually sit on my phone and listen to music to help the time pass because the sauna can be extremely draining but it also helps me stay healthy since I sweat out the toxins in my body.

Intensity! In whatever you do, do it harder, faster - not longer. If you walk, add jogging (intermittently if you have to). If you lift weights, lift more volume (amount of weight in a given time frame). Get your heart rate up to 80% maximum for at least 20 minutes a day ((220-age)*.8) (check with your doctor). If you have the charge HR, put it into exercise mode so it captures your heat rate and you can track what you are doing.
Get more active. While I jog in the morning, I walk at lunch. I park further away, I take stairs instead of elevators or escalators. I walk around 10 minutes ever hour (I sit at computer all day). Fidgget.

I had wanted a sauna for over 25 years. Finally got one and it is BETTER than I imagined. BUT it is not for losing weight. You will sweat a LOT. That is the goal. But then you had better drink at least that much while in or just after or you are prone to get headaches and the "weight loss" is going to come back.
That said it is wonderful for the skin and amazing to relax after a workout and may be one of my best purchases ever. So it does help me be motivated to lose weight but alone is not the answer.

No one said anything about food.
Add vegetables, eat as much as you want.
Add protein shakes with blueberries, raspberries etc.
Add lean meat.
Add good carbs such as quinoa, beans.
Add good fats.
Avoid any junk food.
See what happens.

Definitely try getting your heart rate up! Try high intensity workouts!
