I need help

I am a 30 year old female, I'm short at only 5'4, and I weigh roughly 207 lbs. I have lost 50 lbs in the last 10 months and I am proud of that, there's a very obvious difference in pictures. I would like to lose another 50. I know I'll still be considered obese for my height, but with four pregnancies, my body shape has changed. My hips and shoulders are wider than they were pre-pregnancy. My body will never look the same, but I have four beautiful kids to show for it. For the last few weeks, I've been stuck at this weight, no change. I know plateaus are very common and I've read all about moving past them. But I worked my butt off to lose the weight I have, I don't know that I can really push any harder than I am now. I walk at least 4 miles a day, do pilates and yoga, and an exercise routine working on a different set of muscles every day. I do take weekends off to relax but usually end up walking the 4 miles or more anyway. Also, my doctor suggested a 1400 calorie diet to maintain energy and shed the pounds. The problem with that is that I can't seem to even reach that goal in a day. I recently decided to go vegetarian for personal reasons and that has made it even more difficult. I don't usually eat during the day, only dinner and maybe a snack later in the evening. It's not that I'm trying to starve myself for any reason, I'm really just not hungry and if I force myself to eat, I feel tired and crappy and sometimes even sick. I need help finding a way to eat small things that are kind of high in calories throughout the day so I can get to 1400 calories. I really feel part of this plateau is that I'm not eating enough, but I don't know how to fix it. If anyone can make some suggestions, I would really appreciate it. This is mostly a weight loss community, there aren't a whole lot of people looking for ways to be able to eat more, but this is where I am.

I wasn't actually saying coffee does indeed cause cancer, I was actually commenting on how I think it's utter bull. But regardless of what was "officially" said, it was published by many magazines and posted on many so called "health" websites that coffee has been linked to cancer and people should wean themselves from it. I can't say where this information (or lack thereof) came from, but I did find it many places, even after June. I, myself, believe that it's absolutely ridiculous, people have been drinking coffee for so long now and I have never heard of anyone actually getting cancer from it. I looove my coffee, some days it's all that keeps me going. I was really just usimg that whole thing to show that companies will say anything to get you to pay a few extra dollars for something by claiming that it's healthy. Has anyone noticed that one of the biggest fears people have is cancer and suddenly there are claims that just about everything causes it? But if we pay the extra for this product or that product then we're safe. I just read an article claiming that sugar, all sugar, is the devil and is at the root of all of our health problems. And yet we need it to keep our insulin levels stabilized and stay healthy. I don't listen to any of the claims of what's bad and what's good because that info changes with the season and the new products of the year.

Plateaus. I've been through many of them after losing 70lb. What I like to do is trick my body. If I do the same thing everyday my body adapts to it so that's why the scale stops. When I hit the plateau depending on the previous week if I felt I didn't eat enough, I will add more calories to the following week vice versa. Sometime I skip exercises or do a less intense workout or I just become lazy purposely and rest all day. If I feel I can do better I push harder depending how I feel. Sometimes you just gotta mix it up a bit to trick your body to change.

For example I planned to not exercise at all this week for an experiment. I am pure sedentary this week. I only get 2-3k steps per day. But I'm eating the same calorie as before. I'm still losing weight same as when I get 8k step a day or even more. So why am I losing weight even faster than when I was working out 2hours a day? IDKY but if it works it works. This is all from experience, I am no doctor or scientist like others. Everyone is made differently.

But the main thing is no matter what, just do what you've been doing and don't give up. Plateaus come and go. Remember that even if the scale doesn't show it, your health is still improving and your body mass is still decreasing while gaining leaner muscles depending on what kind of workouts you do. I know you are frustrated. Me too. Seeing numbers on the scale go down is probably the most satisfying thing out of this journey for most people and if anyone say no they're lying. Even though my words may not help you get past your plateau, I hope it serves as a motivation to you that you are not alone. We've all hit plateaus and it sure is ugly but keep on pushing and you'll eventually pass it. Nobody can stay in a plateau forever is all I'm saying unless you quit.
