Did you mean:

I've lost 97 pounds so far.

I thought I'd share some on my weightloss journey.  Last year I was 39 and the worst shape of my life, and hit 300lbs.  I felt horrible and knew I need to do something to change my life.  The thing is I've never been in good shape even in High School I was 265.  After years of trying but never succeeding my girlfriend helped me lose weight. Another thing is I had severve IBS which really affects my quality of life.

At first I started walking, and changed my eating habits.  No more pizza 2 times a week, no more fast food, no more soda.  My forst goal was to get to 250, and my journey started Last April.  Changing my eating habits was the hardest I was addicted to food, and this is why I always failed.  I started my tracking my calories with MFP.  This was the first thing that sttod out I could see how much calories I was taking in, and it was shocking. 3000 + calories a day.

edit: title

Due to my IBS I started a Low FODMAP diet and it turns out the gulten was having a huge impact on my IBS.  After taking out gluten, and eating more balanced protien and vegetables I notice to pounds coming off. By December I hit my goal of 250, and was so happy I was speed walking 3-4 miles a day, biking 10+ miles a day, eating 1800 calories a day.

I stayed around 245-250 until a couple weeks ago I decided to lose some more weight.  I took out all gluten and sugar and with the fitbit I was walking more then even and in the past 10 days I've lost 8 pounds, and today I weighed in at 237.  I now love exercising and it gives me so much energy like Ive never had before.

MFP and Fitbit have really changed my life it gave me something I've never had before, and seeing your progress helps so much.  Plus, you need both I never lost weight like this before and it's life changing.  It's now my routine, and not a chore that's what makes the difference.

Thanks everyone it's the hardest thing, and there is no quick option.  You have to change your lifestyle, and change what you eat and exercise.  Plus, you can't go back to your old habits or you will gain it back.

Oh and it's 64 lbs now 🙂 low FODMAP including carbs, and no sugar makes the pounds drop off that's 9lbs in 10 days.

Down to 235 this morning and only 10 pounds away from my goal of 225.  plus, when I started out I wore a size 46 pants and 3XL shirts.  I'm now down to a size 38 pants and 2XL shirts just seeing that is so much motivation and makes me want to go harder. It's an awesome feeling.

@LocoMutantThat's really cool ! Well done. I've lost 28.5lbs since using both Fitbit and MFP in just over two months. I was 280lbs at the beginning of Jan and am around the same age as you, down to 246lbs now so a way to go yet, I'm aiming for about 180lbs which is where I should be for my height. You're absolutely right about it becoming a routine, I think some people treat it as a journey with an end, where once they hit that target, they can go back to eating whatever and not excercising. So a good mindset of it becoming a lifestyle change is key I think.

Thanks for your inspiring story !

Thanks for the positive feedback and good luck on your journey.  I recently did a 2 week low carb, low sugar to see the results.  I lost 10lbs during those 2 weeks.  Last week I went still eating healthy limited carbs, and sugar I gained 2 pounds going to 237.  So I'm going to do another low carb, low sugar cycle my goal is 225lbs. But when I get there I'm not going to stop this is my routine and I'm not in this for the short term I'm in it for life.

Last week I got new pants a size 38 I started out at a 46, and new shirts went from 3XL to XL, but I feel more comfortable with a little room so I got 2XL.  I ran into someone at the store and they said **ahem** you lost a lot of weight 🙂 it feels so good hearing those comments.

Checking in I'm now down 70 lbs and 5 lbs from my goal.  There is no secret to losing weight.  It's a lifestyle change you have to change your eating habits, exercise more, and it isn't temporary it's for the rest of your life.

Great job ! I wish I was where you are now Man Happy Never the less I am on the right track as well , I am on low carb and low sugar diet too . Started at 289.6 lbs on May 01 , today I am 273.4 lbs , loss of 16.2lbs in 16 days ! I can not believe how fast the weight is coming off , a lot of sacrifices though ...no bread , no pizza , no pasta , no choclate , no ice cream etc. but the thing that I crave the most especially after hard day at work is a pint of ice cold beer Smiley Sad

My Fitbit HR helps a lot too , great gadget !

That's awesome!  I can relate to most of it.  I hit 300+ & was so disappointed in myself.  I changed my nutrition plan (as if I actually had one.) Cut out breads, dairy, pasta, and fruit. (6 days a week) and am down 29lbs so far.

Finally I have less pain in my knees and plan to walk more to help lose even more weight.  My initial goal is 250 and eventually 200. I know it didn't go on quick and that's its not going to come off quick.

But your story is an inspiration. It reminds me that I'm not alone, not the only one nor the 1st one to fight this battle.

Good luck, keep up the hard work and enjoy continued success!!
