Hi everyone! 😄
I hope you're having a great day!
Is diet enough to lose weight? What do you think? 🤔
In my own opinion, I believe that any weight-loss plan that includes regular exercise is not only more successful, it's also healthier. By eating a healthy diet and exercising, you're keeping your bones, muscles, and heart strong and decreasing your risk of developing some diseases. Even if you don't necessarily lose weight, you will be healthier and you will feel and look better too.
Also, eating a healthy diet does not ensure that you will lose weight. Your weight is a balance between the calories you take in and the calories you burn. You will lose weight if you eat a low-calorie diet in which you burn off more calories than you take in, and you will gain weight if you eat more calories than you burn off. Adding physical activity allows you to burn more calories than dieting alone.
Can someone share more comments based on their own experience? 😊
I look forward to reading your comments!

I agree with you, but in general if you are sedentary and in touch with how hungry you are or watching your calories (like I do, I am not to be trusted to not count them so I can eat less then I burn depending on the goal) you will easily eat less if you are mindful.
When I get a hella workout I can get hella hungry and 1,200 calories is NOT going to cut it, it's not healthy either. What I love about fitbit is the tracking site used with the tracking of steps. Personally I only really lose a lot of weight when I track my food because I always get sort of competitive with it, ;ike hey, you say I can have 250 more calories I can do 700!! And it shows, the weight comes off.

Diet is the only way to lose fat weight - meaning eating less than you burn in total as you spelled out.
Exercise is for heart health and body shaping, helping so that when the fat is gone and you see what is under it, is what was desired.
Exercise can so easily be outdone by eating too much. What took an hour to burn in exercise can be eaten in 15 min.
Count the exercise as part of the daily burn obviously because it is.
Eat less than that total.
But don't view exercise as having any function in losing weight by itself. Some exercise for some people makes them very hungry, more than it burns.
For many though, they are more inspired to eat well if they view it as allowing for a good workout and body shaping improvements.
In that sense exercise does help diet, as giving a reason for having a good diet.
You'll find in a review of studies that being overweight has a much higher risk factor for morbidity than not eating "healthy" and getting exercise.
Overweight people have continued to exercise through type 2 diabetes for instance with good diets. But they didn't drop the T2D until they dropped the weight.
