Welcome to the next Challenge!
This one will start today, May 30 and go to July 4th. That gives us 5 weeks to work toward our next set of goals as we try to lose weight or maintain in a healthy way.
Everyone is welcome to join this terrific group. You can post once weekly or every day - whatever you like - to share your journey, give and get support, offer advice, get some tips. We have celebrated each other's successes, and empathized with the setbacks. I personally found, the more I respond to others, the easier it is for me to focus on my own journey in a positive way. We have seen great progress in previous challenges, in weight loss, health, learning, and non-scale success, because we are in it together and focusing on being healthier and living better lives.
Some of the terms used to report our weight:
USW - ultimate starting weight - the heaviest weight when you began to lose
SW - starting weight for this challenge
CW - current weight for the day you report in
GW - goal weight for this challenge, for Halloween
UGW - ultimate goal weight that you intend to reach eventually
Some people also include their height, their age, their BMI.
All you need to do to join, is start posting, usually with some of the weight information.
I do find this to be an amazing group of smart, wise, kind, and determined people. I look forward to this next challenge, and sharing this journey and all we learn with each of you.

Hello all meant to weigh in yesterday but was a really busy day and did not finish work until late. This week has been a difficult week as I learnt that my sister has cancer which is very aggressive and spread throughout her body. The only sign she had that something was wrong was a pain in her stomach, which started two weeks ago. This was a massive shock as she is only 47.
Ok I came on here to show where I have got to so when I started this challenge I was 10stone 6lbs and yesterday I had dropped to 10 stone 2 pounds so in total I have lost 4lbs. My goal was to make a half stone so still on track.

Skipped a week because I was too scared to see where I was at after over indulging at a wedding. Did more walking, drank more water and made better food choices and it worked!

up down up down up down. I averaged 3,900 calories per day this week and my weekly activity was down so im not suprised this week. The sweets have their full hooks in me as of now.
Goals for this week:
-Get sugar way down / replace with fruit.
-Avoid trips to town at night because I told myself several times last week I was going in town for a walk and ended up binging instead.

@Wilson22 Well, that is a big pile of CRAP that just hit your family. You will all need strength to get through this, so take care of yourself as you take care of her. I'll be thinking about you.

@Wilson22 so sorry to hear about your sister. Prayers for healing and a good outcome!
This week has been difficult, had a lot going on but thankfully I have been keeping focus on my food and exercise. I was down 1 lb last week at weigh in and this week I'm down 2. So far the past 5 weeks I'm down 12 lbs which is great! Just gotta keep focused. Our kiddos are going on vacation for a few days with their grandparents so I am going to work hard and push myself more since I won't have them around to keep me occupied 🙂
Hope you all have a fantastic week!

@Wilson22 I am sorry that you and you family have to go through this, dealing with illness in the family is always stressful and my thoughts are with you.
@almost_where I sympathize with the up and down experience. This weekend I traveled home for my brother's graduation and of course missing meals or rushing to flights only to have on air options of cookies or cheese plates isn't the way to stay on track not to mention the dining out, drinking, and celebratory cake that go with all of this. So when I weighed in this morning I was pretty bummed to see that although I had been trying to be careful throughout the weekend by avoiding the bread basket or by walking or running when I had down time that I had still managed to gain back the loss I had last week. So the 2 pounds I lost came back.. plus 1 aka I gained 3 pounds.

My fridge is empty so I have to do groceries today and I have 6 classes left out of the 8 I bought for this month from a boutique gym in my neighborhood so I am hoping that the 6 strong workouts and healthy eating will be able to get me to goal by the 4th. 10 pounds in 2 weeks though is not going to be easy.

Also..... I am not sure if anyone knows that answer to this but I noticed that next to our names we all have a 'runner' status like mine says "recovery runner" and I was wondering how fitbit assigns those labels or was there a time when we chose a status and I just forgot I did that?
Thanks!

Mom and I decided we are going to extend our park walks a bit. When we first started going in the fall, we'd average 45 min for this one trail we took. Now, we have it down to 32 min. That isn't really long enough so we are doing two trips around the lake instead of one. Instead of 4000 steps, we now get about 5500. This suits me FINE. My sister was installing her outdoor pool yesterday so Mom said we could use it after our walks to get in a water aerobics workout too.
I have 7000 steps so far and need to take the pups out later. I'll hit my goal.
Hot, humid day here. I hope everyone has a great start to the week. Keep on plugging away.

So sorry to hear that about your sister! That has to be such a shock. I'm amazed that you are doing so well despite all that's happening. Good for you. I hope that she gets some very good treatment so that she can beat the cancer. Make sure that you keep yourself as a priority, you'll need to be healthy to stay strong.

My stats for last week are okay. I've been watching my snacks much more carefully, and it seems to be turning things around, albeit slowly. I went out with a friend this weekend and I was able to wear a tight, sheer shirt and it looked good. I got several compliments about how good I looked. I was very happy about that!

My dietician and fitbit friends suggested that I stop weighing myself daily. So with that, I'm going to do my next weigh in on July 1st just before I leave for my vacation. I don't know if I'll reach my goal. As long as the scale numbers keep going down then I'm happy! 😁

Went to the podiatrist last week and the ultra sound showed my heel is mostly fluid with no fascia at this point. We are taping it , made molds for custom inserts, no walking , ice, therapy and what ever else we can do to it. The cortisone shot hurt like hell. but the pain is bearable enough now to get around the house and go to the store. No weight loss for us for 3 to 6 months at the best we will try to maintain and keep using the weights and the jungle gym xt straps along with yoga and use my pilates chair and hopefully nora will continue to love the dog park I took her to the other day and things went very smooth and it was her first time being off leash with other dogs. We are still hoping for loss but walking and a little running has always been my favorite and fastest way to get in shape. Love to be out in the woods and I miss it so much. Hope you all continue to lose big time!!!!!!

I've been away too long again. I was working on a huge project that kept me stuck to a desk, with little walking or other activity. I worry that the few pounds I finally lost were muscle. If I start working out again, will the weight come back? This has been so frustrating. Advice: don't ever go on an antibiotic, especially a very powerful one, unless it is really necessary.
ok, enough complaining. On the bright side, I just received this week's organic vegetables fresh from the farm and they are beautiful. The flavors are amazing - much stronger than anything from a supermarket. And I love the surprise of it - though they tell you a day in advance what to expect. They always through in something extra that one farmer had some excess of. These have been the best salads and steamed veggies and stir fries I've ever had. And there is often something I have never used before. Anyone ever have lovage??
Fortunately they provide some recipes, so I'll try it tonight.
Time to go for a walk before it gets too hot.
Thanks so much for all the support here.
Make it a good one.

Glad to be moving in the right direction again. I do think that I was a bit dehydrated this morning though so next week will be interesting 🙂
However, I did do really well on logging food - whether or not I ate within my calorie limit or not. Most of the time if I eat poorly, I tend to not log. I just avoid and think that I did bad and just move on. However, through some encouragement from others, I tried to stick with logging my food despite the ups and downs. And this week was hard - doc found a lump in my breast that had to be checked out (ended up being ok - no cancer), applying for a new job, in laws in town, husband getting food poisoning, tough discussions at therapy and more. But I stuck with the logging and it really seemed to keep me more mindful of what I was eating and not going over my cal limit as bad as previous weeks.
Hopefully I will keep with it as it seems to be the ONLY WAY that I can keep this weight loss going. I'm still not to the point that I can truly control my eating and stay within my limits without it.
I wanna say that you all are so inspiring. To read your stories about battling really difficult illnesses/injuries, taking care of loved ones, working long hard hours at work always makes me feel inspired to keep fighting the good fight. Sometimes I get down in the dumps about feeling like I am the only one trying so hard for weight loss and this really helps 🙂 Good job everyone on your hard work, even if the scale hasn't been moving in the right direction. With persistence, we will all get to the healthy goals we set.

Turns out I forgot to post last week so I'm covering two weeks now. The last two weeks have really reminded me to keep it in gear; just because I'm getting close to my goal doesn't mean I can stop getting steps and eating well. I need to work on my mindset. Now that I've been home for a month I am realizing that it is so much easier to snack at home. At college, if it wasn't in my dorm, most of the time I wouldn't be bothered to go walk to the minimart, so I didn't snack. Now, the pantry is right there!

@TT_is_me Wow! You've been hit with some stress lately! I'm so glad the lump turned out ok. It's great that you have kept logging. What do you do to manage all the stress? I hope with all you have going on you get to take some time for yourself.
