Welcome one and all to our next challenge for better health and weight loss or maintenence.
We gather here to support each other, cheering and empathizing with the process of life style
change to improve our health and quality of life.
Set reasonable goals so you can feel success.
USW= heaviest weight when you began to lose
SW=starting weight
CW=current weight
GW=goal weight for Labor Day
UGW = Ultimate goal weight - long term healthy weight goal
Some people include their BMI = Body Mass Index, and some add their height as well.
You can stop by once a week and post your progress or every day to get and give ideas and support.
Most people track their food intake as well as steps to make sure you burn at least 500 to 750 more calories than you consume. Remember eat healthy food and portions in a way that you can maintain.
We can do this together. We have seen great progress over the last 7 challenges.
Welcome.

Sorry that you are struggling and injured now. I believe that you have the strength to get through it. I second everything that wise Bobbinyc said, especially calm yourself and take care of yourself. Your house will sell and a good new one will appear.

Awesome about 4 mi walk and water. What a great recovery. Your @#$#@%^ scale is broken like mine I think. Anyway, you are on the mend and that is most important.
Off to water the garden,

Question for the ladies in the group (sorry gents- I'll try not to include TMI).
How do you stay on track during ... certain times of the month?
I can barely keep my eyes open and I ate all my calories for the day before 2 pm. 1800 steps isn't going to get me to my goal. I've gained 2 lbs this week (I'm pretty sure its water). I don't want to gain back everything i lost since memorial day by eating everything that isn't nailed down.

@dancefoxtrot Thanks for your thoughtfulness and good vibes as usual.

It seems that I never felt thirst before, but now that I am drinking water, I do get thirsty. Go figure.
NSV- I managed to go the whole week with no - not one- French pastry, despite someone bringing them to me, and despite having to pass the pastry shop on the way to the gym. I like to think it is strength, determination, focus, will power. Nah. I'm probably coming down with something.

I wish I had a loss to report but alas the scale refuses to budge, for now. I think I'll go for a walk this morning, leave the Fitbit at home and walk just to enjoy the feeling and the day, and not obsess about the numbers for a change. My brain needs a break!

USW-363 - March 9
Independence Day Weight - 314
Week 1 - 311 - CW
- 3 lbs
Earned the 50# and 20k step badge this week and came in at my original July 4th goal so that part felt good. I also decided to start food logging again because I felt lost in terms of where I stood. When I started my journey the 4XL t-shirts barely fit (esp after shrinking in the dryer). I would have to stretch the shirts before putting them on. Bought a few 3XLs this week and they fit just fine.

@mommo77 what a wonderful idea! Sometimes we forget to not give the number on the scale too much power. It is only one indicator, and not a very good one, of our health and how effective we are in taking good care of ourselves. A relaxing walk on a beautiful day sounds wonderful to me. I think I will do the same.

@dancefoxtrot Thanks, Barbara. I think I am going to make a note to read each time I have to go to the gym and write down what you said...."poison"...."waltz on by".... Great images. Thanks.

Hi. I've been saving for a Fitbit and want to get either the Charge HR or the Surge. I'd appreciate any feedback on problems you've had, or preferences.
Thanks.

Hi
This is a discussion group and that is separate from friending someone. Post your health and weight goals and come here to give and get support on your journey.
All the best,

@mommo77 Sometimes a break from the numbers is a great thing. Breathe easy. Have a fabulous week!
