Welcome one and all to our next challenge for better health and weight loss or maintenence.
We gather here to support each other, cheering and empathizing with the process of life style
change to improve our health and quality of life.
Set reasonable goals so you can feel success.
USW= heaviest weight when you began to lose
SW=starting weight
CW=current weight
GW=goal weight for Labor Day
UGW = Ultimate goal weight - long term healthy weight goal
Some people include their BMI = Body Mass Index, and some add their height as well.
You can stop by once a week and post your progress or every day to get and give ideas and support.
Most people track their food intake as well as steps to make sure you burn at least 500 to 750 more calories than you consume. Remember eat healthy food and portions in a way that you can maintain.
We can do this together. We have seen great progress over the last 7 challenges.
Welcome.

Many boyfriends and spouses do actually sabotage weight loss without being conscious of their motivations. As women lose weight and perhaps are more attractive to other men it is possible the boyfriend feel some fear of loss. Most women have to be very clear and specific about what they need and want for support in meeting their goals.
Best,

Hi everyone,
@Chlz1997 I hope you don't mind, I stole your chart for myself.
We are on vacay and sometimes the scale is not available. However I did weigh myself at my sister-in-law's place and my weight went way up in just one day. I thought it to be the scale but it was a scale given to her by the hospital. I got home and weighed the same. I know she was pretty worried about my ankles. I do have a doc's appointment in a few weeks from now so we'll see what she has to say. And my cardiologist appointment is first week in Sept. I did however manage to bring the weight back down. Yahooie!! Now to continue. My DIL does have a scale that I can use to weigh in. Hopefully. Then everything will be back to normal end of Aug. Hard to exercise when you spend most of the time in the truck.

Not a real check-in (that won't happen until Monday morning), but yay! I got on the scale this morning and it reads 126.4, so I am getting to my ultimate goal of 125. If not by Labor Day, because I do tend to fluctuate a lot day to day, at least I see it in my near future. I am finding that between Fitbit and my eating plan, it is easier than it has ever been to maintain and even lose, so I am a happy grandmother. And my doctor finally finding the right dosage of thyroid meds has been helpful, too, of course, but it really is primarily the food and exercise. I have decided that my goal reward is going to be going out for a fun evening in my red shoes.I love my red shoes!

Wow lots of folks doing well losing and maintaining
. Less chest pain for me from the car accident and so I happily went to my private waltz lesson this week. Been working in the garden weeding with help in digging holes and lifting heavy things.
My body has decided to maintain between 145.5 and 148.5 with the scale showing 146.1 this morning. Not going to focus on it much really just plan to get some more steps in and eat less during late night TV watching. I'd be happy to see 145 within a week. I checked on my calorie burning daily record and it is around 1700-1900 calories recently so need to move some more.
Had 2 good salads recently and this am just one whole rye cracker with almond butter and coffee with almond milk. Off to a dance exercise class in 10 minutes.
Wishing you all the very best in health and stick to itiveness.
Best,
Barbara G

Hey there my friend,
Hope that you are doing well and enjoying each day. Remember the skull and crossbones on that pastry shop near the gym.
Have you been able to see your MD yet about the thyroid levels?
I checked in the dashboard area and found that I wasn't buring enough calories to lose since I was below 1900 most days.
Watched many inspirational speeches at the DN Convention and that is very sedentary. I'm thinking of getting a small stationary bike that I can wheel into the corner to use while TV watching my wonderful PBS programs at night. .
Just thinking of you and wishing you health and enjoyment in your life,
Barbara G

Scale still not moving - one day it's 189 and next day it's 190- and I'm working hard on not letting it get to me. I know I have gained muscle, but not that much. Today I'm going to try to do my settings again, especially how many calories I want to be eating and how fast I want to lose, and see if I've been off track since I originally set it a year ago.
Will get a complete physical and blood work in a week.
I do feel good about eating well and being more active and that counts for a lot.

@dancefoxtrot Thank you for your steady supply of support and great advice. It means a lot to me.
How are you feeling? Did dancing work out all right?
I was in Phila for part of the convention. It was very moving to feel all the positive energy in the crowds. The police were noticeably kind and professional despite the heat, long hours, and sometimes being provoked. Mostly, people were on their best behavior. So many very moving and intelligent speeches.
I have a drs. appt in 2 weeks. Thanks for asking.
And fortunately, the pastry shop, being French, is closed for August. I've gotten stronger, it's so much easier when there is no temptation in front of me.

@DJC_63 I hope your mom manages the chemo relatively ok. It's a lot to handle for both of you. I'm glad you are going to shift the balance a bit and take care of you too. You certainly deserve it.

@khreed I hope you have a wonderful time "on the road". Although it is harder when you don't have total control over your food, I think you know what you are doing. You'll manage as well as possible, and be back on track when you return. Meanwhile, I hope it is relaxing and fun, a great break.
