Thanks Bobbinyc and Deb for your good reviews of my little waltz. Glad you like it.
Actually I lived on 68th st between West End and Amsterdam in Manhattan until the city tore down our tenement neighborhood and built large pricey apartment buildings and then built Lincoln Center. West Side Story was shot in my neighborhood after they evicted the tenants. It was a tough place to grow up for me.
Thanks for the information about the arteries relaxing due to stretching. All the more reason to hold the poOff to sleep now.
Take care everyone,
Barbara G

Thanks for the information about the arteries relaxing due to stretching. All the more reason to hold the stretch long enough to reap the benefits. Off to sleep now.

Loved the video Barb thanks for sharing your a wonderful dancer.
Scale is still headed in the right direction but has slowed down somewhat down 1 lb this week think the stomach exercise is helping found another soft exercise for abs area in a yoga book I'm reading kind of like the setting abs exercise but lying flat on your back raising one leg and then the other doing the 25 count and as many reps as possible I do this one before getting out of bed in the morning.

Hi Everyone,
Had a fun weekend with the family. We celebrated my birthday by painting pumpkins and having a nice dinner followed by cake. It was great! After everyone left I took what was left of the cake and tossed it. I didn't want to be snacking on it for days to come. I also went for a barefoot beach run on Sunday. The weather was just perfect. I call beach running the "Florida pedicure" I may do that again one day this week.
Next week my sister is coming down from Canada. She will be here for 10 days and I am taking vacation days. I know that she and I will do a TON of stuff while she is here, so hopefully that can help me to get closer to my halloween goal!
Oh, and I forgot to weigh in this morning so I'll have to do that tomorrow instead! Woops!

Probably you are burning fat with all your activity and building dense lean muscle so the scale doesn't move. As long as you are losing inches, fitting into smaller clothes then you are doing great.
When we use our muscles in Zumba or lots of steps we store water in our muscles. That is a good thing. Weigh same time each day. I think you will begin to see your weight drop.
Great going.

Hi Everyone
Firstly, massive congrats to everyone for being healthy & really smashing this challenge!
I hopped on the scales this morning so thought I'd check in...
SW 4/9: 153
PW: 5/10: 146
CW: 10/10: 145
GW 31/10: 145!!
So I can't quite believe it but I've hit my goal of 145lbs for this challenge. So with progress in mind I'm going to adjust my goal ever so slightly. Also a happy coincidence, hitting 145lbs also earned me my -40lbs badge so that was a lovely bonus!
New goal weight = 143lbs
Hopefully the new GW will keep me focused on healthy decisions. It's my husbands birthday this weekend so I might have to cheat just a bit & have a bit of cake .
Hope you all have a good week!

Hi Everyone ,
You are all doing terrific , i have been MIA for a bit , been away for work , unfortunately my body is fighting me again...lol I will hit a new low then pop up again and take a few weeks to bounce back down..aggravating to say the least , but then weight loss is not linear and i am not giving up ( almost back to my few weeks ago low this morning ) also back in town for the foreseeable future so time to buckle down and get serious . Here are the numbers
SW- 09/07 - 152.5
Low W - 09/23 - 146.2
CW- 10/14 - 146.6
CGW - 135
Challenge goal is going to be tough , but if my fat cells lose all this water i know they are hanging on to it is not impossible , so i will still give it my all. I am a stubborn girl , ( irish and red head...lol )
Have a great week all:)

@saraj91 Congrats Sara!
Hi Everyone,
I am logging in to share my progress for the week. Things are still going good. I am really working on being committed to my plan and not finding excuses to cheat. I find that having a designated day where I can eat more calories and indulge a bit really helps me to plan. This weekend, for example, I am taking my parents to an english tea shop that just re-opened near us. We used to go there quite often but they closed last year. They have now been reopened with new owners. My dad has alzeimers so this is a nice way to spend time with them and give my mum a chance to talk and relax. I know that this will involve some higher calorie snacks, so I have planned that as my higher calorie day. So far this plan is working for me.

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone is having a great week! Not sure where everyone is but here in Florida the weather is finally starting to cool off (my favorite time of the year is fall/winter!). I haven't really been to the gym since last week since we have had a hectic week but I've been paying very close attention to my food intake. So far it's paying off even though I'm not excercising like I was. Tonight is my gym/5K training night so wish me luck lol
Congrats to all of you who have progressed!

Still fighting through some injuries and physio although the scale was kind to me thismorning as it dropped every so slightly under 280! Was a good week aside from soreness from attempting to go rock climbing last week. I managed to push some more time off of the 1km swims (down to 35:30 min from 42 min at start of challenge) I have been working on to keep off of my feet while resting up for a dance workshop weekend, it is exciting to be returning to social dancing regularly and this will be my first class format dance event since i injured my feet late last year and i am VERY excited to learn some new moves/techniques. I am a lindy hopper (swing) and love every minute of it! I hope the continued weight loss will allow me to dance more often again by giving my poor overworked feet a break.
Keep up the progress everyone, I love checking in on all your stories and progress.

@kmme You are right, weight loss is not linear. Just keep being active, nourishing your body with good wholesome real food, and you will get there. I always find it is much easier when I am home than when I am travelling. It helps to have more control over meals and snacks. Hang in there.
