I know I've been doing extra runs and walk. But the weight loss, is it even safe?

Better slow down on the weight loss its a lot quickly slower is better

it depends on how much you have to lose. if you have a lot to lose, it's probably ok as long as it doesn't happen all the time (if you just started dieting, a good chunk of that 17lbs may just be water weight).
If you don't have a lot to lose, then 17lbs in 2 weeks is pretty drastic. did you do anything differently those 2 weeks? be as specific as you can. finally, if this is completely not normal for you and you're concerned, why not just make an appointment with your doctor? it couldn't hurt and it'll be much more definitive than any answer you will get here on the forum.
